NPs are honestly way more attentive and are more willing to take my concerns seriously versus any doctor I've had.

Me too sis! I just failed my last semester over loosing 2 points on a dam Dosage exam (got an 88%, needed a 90%) while I had a B in all my classes. This was my second time in nursing school, now I have to go back a 3rd time! I am currently recovering and preparing to readmit in my program this Spring. It's a trip, but so worth it...Thank GOD you kept going because I did! 😘

PA and doctor ignored my aneurysm in 2022 , blessed to still be here. NP's can be the same. It really boils down to their personal beliefs and what they've been through medically, personal or professional or if their plain and simple biased against certain patients which will determine the kind of care you get or don't get. I've worked with doctors and nurses and I've been the patient and was blessed with good paramedics, nurses and doctors and CNA'. But that's not always the case. I take better care of myself, although I was when this happened. Then my dietary could have been better, less salt. The most understanding doctor saw me in ER after I developed a blood clot from an IV, it was because he himself had a stroke and was able to offer me valuable insight into my care and taking care of myself and a nurse who had her thyroid removed more valuable advice. They both were willing to share. Choose who is the most active in your care. To many in medicine just for money and title, hardly any care to be found, sad to say. I've dealt with more medical practitioners than Id care to say. My mother and daughter both see them and the system in the USA is just broken

Some nps know more than the doctors. Don't disrespect someone who's willing to help u just as well or even better just cause u don't see MD. She has a lot of other important letter in her title they wouldn't understand anyway which just shows us she knows more than some mds.

Less trips to a lab. It's great they have the ability to do more now. Fyi they always have done alot sadly not regonized for it. So be thankful for the positive reinforcements. They're greatly needed. ❤❤❤❤

I'm sorry but I don't think I'd go to a NP with this attitude. I and my son have both gotten wrong dx from 2 different NP in the same practice. And my son was on a wrong med that made symptoms worse from another practice. We had to go to a larger city to get that straightened out. We're in a small rural town, so the options are few. I prefer a Doctor. Sorry, no offense, but bad experiences are lasting.

my mom suffered with a horrible cough and sinus congestion. to the point it was painful. her primary physician just brushed it off as asthma and told her it was normal, no matter how many times she went in. one day, her physician wasn’t available and she got an NP instead. diagnosed her with pneumonia

I love nurses who don't hesitate to call a patient stupid for jeopardizing their safety for nonsense reasons. That said, you need to remember that the patient has the ultimate say so on whether they receive that medication at all. Barring a blatant case of probable self harm, doctors and nurses should have no authority to override the consent of the patient. For examples, look into the legal kidnappings by psych facilities

I have a np.. had sooo many issues... Filling Rx's at her leisure.. COVID, extreme congestion. Inflamed lungs.. issued Albuterol for a nebulizer, told I needed a unit.. after waiting 2 months finally got a call through.. asking if I was supposed to drink those tubes of medication.. was told the order was faxed.. given the number for ME to follow up.. found fax never received.. antibiotics issued a week after my appt.. pitched a fit.. nurse called to say they we issuing that Rx.. only to ask what med?? It was on my do not issue list.. another 2 days went by B4 I was given another. Obviously she is there for the paycheck .. rather than the care of her patient.. now I am filing a big complaint to patient advocate. The will check into sueing. So done with this behavior in my care.
