This story made a real impression on me as a kid. Oddly I remember watching this in catholic Sunday school which now makes me think those were more progressive times.

Thanks to everyone who lent a hand. I crewed to get her home in 1978. The Richie is sexy getting her mast set and hauled out. Ah ..... these guys were my sweethearts. I've been here, I've been there. but the only thing I ever miss is Sausalito boys.

My step-father’s work of art called “The Madonna and child” was built around 1969-70. It burned down in the year 1972. The Owl boat was both built by Chris Roberts and Skip Melcher. Chris, also built The butterfly boat and The barrel barge AKA The evil eye, which Bill Mayhall, lived in next door to us when we lived in the Owl boat. Shel Silverstein, bought the boat and moved in around the end of 1969. We lived in the Owl from 1967-1971 and then moved to gate six into The Charles van Damme ferry boat.

My 10 yo granddaughter will love to hear this in the author's own voice! Thanks so much!!!

Got the anchor out starter kit with the little dog not on a leash running around the dock. Thats why this dingy dock was taken out, because of trashy dog people, not the boaters. Real boaters dont have dogs.

The book ends without a true conclusion. Lafcadio leaves his fellow lions and his life in the human world behind, believing he has no place in the world. What’s the message? Where does the lion belong?

It's not the Anchor-outs that cause pollution. It's the legal boatyards, and paying dock members. They will dump 100 gallons of fuel without batting an eyelash. They have the money to pollute. It's just gotten so crazy, and Anchor-outs are easy targets. I guess all homeless are easy targets? (By the way, the boat yards are in collusion. They have been breaking federal laws for years. The Sea Scouts were selling donated boats, and all the money was going to one guy named Dale. He's probally out of jail by now, but he told me how it all works down on Richardson Bay. Oh yea, the cops ticket for everything, and pretty much everything is illegial. They do leave the tourists alone though, but harass everyone else.

That wasn’t the entire story. They definitely left out some parts.

I'm building a new home above my garage, Built of replaced 6'' water pipe welded a solid structure together. My only problem was, I used Thompsons water seal, and metal over the seams, but the expansion and contracting separated and caused leaks, Today folks use rubber which seals itself. Howdy again Steve, My last Email was in error, I thought it was to an old friend, where Lisa and I lived and where married there in Tenn. on the Farm, All the memories brought out all these emotional, My eyes rained down, I couldn't control myself. Anyway back to you. I had to log in again, but that wasn't all of it, I left a lot of things out, that now I know I should of filled in the blanks, that you can see me looking off. Tje fact is I started writing a book years ago around 1995. I have to re-write it because of water dammage, and to insert the humor I've discovered over these yrs. But the Truth is It needs a REAL writer.
