Thank You, Guitar pedal: 4gre.org/pedal/
I am still looking to find some new ideas and there might be some signs of life. In to- days session I was trying more work on single note playing over my favorite weird loops from the DD5 and also more work on playing the motorik rhythm with my thumb!
I am making the Thank You, Guitar pedal available for pre-order! It is 4GRE Amp in pedal format! I've set up a website here: 4gre.org/pedal and I did a demo video here as well: ruclips.net/video/Oa4fTB4XhM4/видео.htmlfeature=shared

Out for Ale also sounding good again today! I am working with a ...

I feel like I imparted a bit more swing into Amen Family than usual and I think it favor s the piece well. My friend! I lived in Buenos Aires in 2011 and became a fan of Los Mártires de Chicago because I am an anarchist and also from the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, usa. I went to go see 2 matches at Estadio Diego Armando Maradona and bought the flag from a vendor outside the stadium. I am also wearing a 2011 Argentinos Juniors shirt in this video, which I got from a shop in Lavalle. Thank you for listening and sending you many positive vibes!! Abrazo fuerte!!

Woah, Thank you Cyrus, for playing amen family one more time. It's just fenomenal!
You're welcome, my friend!! And in this version I experimented with an even denser texture for the end of the song. I am going to have to keep doing it that way! It really felt like it was moving! Sending you many positive vibes!
very curious to know what moves you to play your 9 string esquire over many intruments you have on camera. They all sound super sick, just preference and how long you've been playing? Sounding great as usual my friend. \m/
Excellent question, my friend!! I have been playing this Esqurie 9 String since 2013 and before that was playing the Kawai 9 string guitar I play in some of these videos since 2003. I had decided around that time that the baritone 9 string might just be my thing! So I decided to focus on it. As to the other instruments, some I got to try and develop a level of comfortability playing "off the shelf" guitars so I do not feel like I can only do my thing on my weird instrument XD. Others like the Silvertone 1448 and Squier 50s Classic Vibe that I converted to Esquire I've been curious about for a long time and decided to try and get. I used to go to a different guitar store every Tuesday to play different guitars, but in the last 4 years or so I stopped doing this and so I guess I have tried to recreate the feeling here in my practice zone. . . . Thank you again for listening! Sending you many positive vibes!!!

ESQUIRE 2024 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🇺🇸🇺🇸
XD XD XD!!!! Thank you, my friend!!
Love this shit, I'm curious who you count as influences?such an idiosyncratic way of playing, I dont think I can compare to anybody, maybe its a gap in my knowledge tho
Like it reminds me of some west african music with a hint of midwest emo/mathrock and/or some of that 2000s fingersyle biz like Kaki King or Preston Reed, I'm imagining its pretty diverse. I know its unromantic to just endlessly categorise stuff, but im interested in the ingredients!
All of this is super on-point, my friend! I am from the midwest usa and am a huge fan of Cap'n Jazz and midwest emo. Victor Villarreal is a huge guitar influence. I also have huge respect for Kaki King!! I think there are sonic connections to the buzzy sound of say the Mbira. This first piece I'm playing, for me, is coming straight out of techno/Aphex Twin trying to map the Amen breakbeat to fingerpicking patterns. Guitar-wise the folks, other than Victor Villarreal, who have had the biggest impact on me would probably be Alan Licht and Gillian Gilbert/Bernard Sumner. The other piece of the puzzle is my interest in Persian classical music and the Tar especially. Thank you so much for listening so closely! Sending you many positive vibes!!
This was amazing to witness

Thank you, my friend!! I very much like the idea of a sound skateboard! I can visualize cruising around, carving the street, and ollie'ing up a curb!
Your approach to composing is fascinating. Are there rules that you play by when composing, or is it all from improvisation, and playing with the open tunings? Just curious about your process a little. Thats a beauty Silvertone by the way!
Thank you, my friend!!! I would say most of the ideas come from noodling and improvisation. I feel like there end up being these things I just play when I pick up the guitar. Small fragments of stuff or little rhythms I heard and am interested in trying to play. I just kind of let the things jostle together until a phrase emerges. These I practice with a more intentional ear and start to think both "where could this go?" and also "do I have any other riffs that could work with this?" And that's how small things start to become larger things! While they are in various relation to an A440 reference, the guitars are all tuned with the expected string to string relationships of from bottom up P4, P4, P4, M3, and this is mostly to get the particluar tension I'd like on the instrument. I get that they are alternate tunings, but I don't really experience them that way! XD Thank you as always for your kind words and for listening! Sending you many positive vibes!!
@@cyruspireh Ahhhh, okay. Thank you for answering brother! I know that you have a music education, and that there's an educated approach to your playing. I really like that though. When I was writing more of my own stuff years ago I had a similar approach to my guitar playing, but mostly coming from an unedcated perspective. I only had a few lessons, and have been self taught since then, but I used to experiment a lot with phrases, and acoustic fingerpicked instrumentals. I remember breaking some strings, and since I couldn't afford to change them I wrote with what I had to work with, and it came up with some interesting stuff. Pretty and emotional little phrases. I had them uploaded to Myspace, but my page was wiped with a bunch of their servers! That's an interesting view to tunings as well. If you don't have a standard then you can't have alternatives!
Right on, my friend!! I am sorry to hear about those myspace servers! I would have been psyched to hear those ideas! XD The education helps in answering the "where could this go?" question, but the rest of it is what I've been doing since I started playing at 13. Education or no, your ideas are still valid, my friend! And your experience playing creates a knowledge only you have! Don't count that out!!!
All the difference! XD ... .. Available for pre-order now! Thank You, Guitar Pedal: 4gre.org/pedal
