Try relaxing your embouchure when you get to the higher notes. People tend to think when they get to the higher notes that they need to tighten the embouchure on the piccolo, but it's the opposite. You just need to control the air and relax your embouchure and focus the air into that head joint.

I used to play the flute when I was in middle school, I found it slightly difficult because I have extremely small hands and I have camptodactyly in my left pinky, meaning it permanently curves inwards so it's hard to reach some of the keys, hence why I wanted to try a piccolo, but was told no. But this is a much more affordable option to at least try it out.

Really appreciate this overview. I’m a trumpet player who used to use forScore when I utilized iPads, but I now use a large android tablet. So far I’m really enjoying this app as an alternative but haven’t gotten a grasp of how to do half page turns. I assume it’s a feature that I can utilize as I once found it very useful on forScore?.

I had one years ago and wish I still had it. The thing is, it's cheaper than a Yamaha soprano recorder, and it's an actual flute, not a whistle as a recorder is. You use a real flute embouchure. So if you're not sure if you'd like to play the flute, this is a really "friendly" way to try it out.

You need to listed to what you're recording. You could use a lot more volume for recording.

Technically, this is actually a keyless piccolo--it has seven finger holes, plus one thumb hole underneath. A true fife has only six finger holes and no thumb hole.
