Use headphones to listen!!
I am an amateur cornet, flugelhorn and trumpet player. I used to play trumpet in various bands in Barking & Dagenham in UK but stopped playing when I was 18. In January 2020, I re-learnt to play the trumpet after 35 years!
It's been an interesting, frustrating and long journey from trumpet to flugelhorn to cornet. I've been on many mouthpiece safaris. I'm hoping the Cornet Denis Wick 2BW is my last in terms of cup diameter (17mm) and wide rim (5.50mm), medium cup with v shaped backbore. Recording came about accidentally when I realised recording trumpet on a smart phone is truly awful! And that led to my journey into audio and video recording. In April 2023, I started recording with two microphones (large diaphragm condenser and a dynamic) and bought FCPX. In July 2024, with the help of Oleh Skakun, I now know what I am doing with EQ!
