Stargate Animatronic Horus Helmet Build
Просмотров 35 тыс.11 лет назад
This is a slideshow of the build process for my Horus Guard helmet from the movie and TV series STARGATE. The helmet is 100% made by me using everyday items. The model was created from a paper model making process called PEPAKURA. The files are available free online. There is another video which inspired me to create this helmet by a guy named HONUS67. His video here. ruclips.net/video/_idnua6B...

Everything in yellow is an aircraft............ It is a 24-hour observation of all of the large aircraft flights in the world, condensed down to about 2 minutes. From space, we look like a beehive of activity. You could tell it was summer time in the north by the sun's footprint over the planet. You could see that it didn't quite set in the extreme north and it didn't quite rise in the extreme ...

These comments from years ago make me feel old
Wow lol
Amazing, Jim from Morro Bay, Ca.
amazing helmet but all that wonderful work and you went with that outfit. :(
am i right to assume you can look through its throat there? or is that my eyes playing tricks on me
zorgfleeter yes you are correct. There is a small slit to see out of with a thin black fabric backing to hide your eyes.
Please, what are the controls, I doubt that you went with a controller in your hands
Actually that is exactly what I used. I have an Arduino circuit board in the helmet programed to accept inputs from a PS2 joystick that I hold in my hand. So when I move the joystick right the head of the mask goes right and when I release tension on the joystick it re-centers itself. I hope this helped.
amazing work!
do you have the link for the downloads of the paperaka files? Thanks
I actually got them from a great site called the Replica Prop Forum www.therpf.com if you do a search for foam pep Stargate it should show up. It was in a post where the creators offer multiple free pep files to members for download. I hope this helps
can i have it? u should make tons, get rich, make a factory, sell them on ebay, and so forth. btw great job, i really like it
All that trouble but they couldn't get metallic paint?
It's settled! I build one on my own for next year. Electrics are no problem because I learned it.
Brilliant, Phantom.
Thanks a bunch! I enjoyed making it and I'm now considering a new V2.0 build
That's just amazing!
Saw you at the Dragon*con costume contest, it's nice to see the helmet in working condition before the TSA got their hands on it.
Awesome! Glad you found me here and got to see what it was supposed to do! :-) I really wish I could of given that little bit of extra wow factor with everything working... maybe when I finish the Anubis head for it!
AWESOME.... Build time ???
Thanks! I would say it took me about 2 months to finish the entire costume but that was working on days off and a few evenings a week. It wasn't a daily project.
long life to my god horus : )
Hey everyone visit our NEW site ruclips.net/user/lastfrontierfilms for all of our new and classic videos and "like" us on Facebook at facebook.com/MKNINJAS
Thanks. I used a very sophisticated scribing too... a ball point pen! haha! :) I just took my time and tried to make all the lines as accurate as possible. I used a pencil to lightly mark where I was going to scribe also. With a little pressure the lines appear permanently in the foam sheets I used. Did you pay for your PEP files? Because I know there are free ones floating around the interwebs... Mine were free
Thanks! It was labor intensive but not too extremely difficult. (it was my first pepakura AND animatronics build.)
Can you please tell me how you learned ...how to do this? Is there a class...course...books? I would love to learn how to do this.
to much talent for me. amazing job.
Just normal sheets of craft foam you can buy from craft stores like Hobby Lobby or Michaels. Various thickness from 2-6mm.
We'll be waiting))
interesting to have made such a random return. What got you back into Scorpion/Sub-Zero cosplay?
First com
what kind of foam sheet did u use (how thick) and where did you order it? Im in the middle of my build atm and soon i'll need some foam sheets to cover the helmet.
Just behind the bottom of the bird head is a cut out section that allows me to see out. I have cloth over the hole so you cant see in but I can see out. The staff was from a local sci-fi fan group who let me use it for the convention. Its molded off the tv show used original.
how could you see out of it and where did you get the staff weapon?
Thanks! I'm really happy with the results!
Wow that turned out awesome!
It's a Cessna 172
go through the grass man!
WOW!! that was intense!
WOW THIS DESERVES SO MUCH MORE VIEWS! YOU Deserve More Subs..
He said he needed you to land then roll right in to the grass, why did you take the taxioff? Attention to detail
These are awesome...
Nice job by stealing from a tire commercial
Thanks! I always try to squeek in every landing and make it as nice as possible but this one even surprised me!
Great job! i love how the pilot goes "wow" i said the same thing in one of my videos
What a greaser!!
So cool! nice job! Commanders are just great airplanes to fly!
Very cool video - did you notice the planes flying out of the southern tip of South America over the Pacific ? Wonder where they are flying ? (maybe Australia?)
Nice job !!! loved the landing right on that green dot. This video is a great demo of this special arrival and the communications involved. I'm sure the pilot has an AWESOME flight instructor :) . . . (especially one who has no worries flying right over Lake Michigan) I salute you !
Wow thanks for posting. Definitely good to have a second set of eyes on board.
Great video! This will come in handy when I fly my Cessna to OSH next year. It's great to get an idea of how the communications work.
thats AWESOME!
Goooo Alaskan Outpost! :)
