No I caught that on an older St. Croix. I got that 703 Dobyns right after that trip. Until I started using Kistler, it was my best combo… I swear by the 703 and the Concept C! Awesome equipment

In all honesty, I ended up putting braid on both and used one for Chatterbaits and the other for spinnerbaits. Both have been sold and replaced by Kastking Royal Legend GT’s. Today, I only use Lew’s LFS or better reels.

I have used Lew’s in tournaments for sure. I also use Kastking in tournaments. You can spend more for sure. Hard to beat an LFS, but you can. If you need too

Also, as far as tournaments go. You can fish whatever you want. However, most reels under $100 are not going to hold up to well if used 7-10 hours a day fishing hard. A fleet of Lew’s LFS or Shimano SLX reels would be a safe way to get yourself tournament ready. You definitely can go cheaper, but it may not take long before you are looking to replace some broken down or worn out reels

Daiwa does make these. In fact, I was told at the counter in a Missouri Bass Pro Shop, that Johnny Morris himself works with reel manufacturers. In this case, you get the internal parts of a $100 Daiwa in a $80 BPS/Johnny Morris reel.

Well in all honesty, I have used the $57 Crixus Sea Spray more than the Armor X. But the $57 one is better than the Lew’s Mach 2. I wouldn’t say the the Armor X is better than a LFS or a SLX, but I like the knobs better and it’s $20 cheaper and still on an aluminum frame

The oil though, even if it was like sunflower oil, it's pretty much the same imo, using an airfryer was definitely a better idea This is a great recipe for cheat day though

Not disagreeing about the oil, but queso is 2 grams of carbs, tortillas are basically carb neutral. Beef? Zero. I understand I am getting some fat, but we made a crab friendly choice everywhere
