Not much here aye?
Seth Boyer - The Cremation of Sam McGee (Extended Intro)
Like many others, I first came across this song from Jacob Geller's 'Fear of Cold' video essay. However, I could not find a version of this song with the extended intro as it is in the video. Eventually I reached out to Seth Boyer personally, who kindly shared the file and gave me permission to upload it.
In this version, Seth repeats the intro's acoustics 4 times before the vocals join in. Jacob Geller's video used onwards from 2:59 only.
Seth also shared with me this additional info about the song for anyone wanting to learn it:
"The main part is played on banjolele (a goofy mini-banjo tuned G-C-E-A like a ukulele) in the key of C major. The basic chord progression for the whole song is as...

This extension is something I didn't know I needed. Thank you
@@AndyMartinez-u3n song just doesn't hit the same without it
@@zucchiniiiuwu it really doesn't. The feel of the song really relaxes me in the most stressful of situations. The story takes me out of reality, I suppose
@@AndyMartinez-u3n would you be interested in a tutorial? I taught myself how to play it through a lot of trial and error and some neat technologies, and as far as I know, nobody has posted any tutorials on how to play this piece.
@@zucchiniiiuwu I'm smiling from ear to ear because I don't know how to play guitar, but I would absolutely not pass up the opportunity to learn this piece. If you can share something, I promise I'll pick it up when I get an instrument
@AndyMartinez-u3n not a guitar song, it's meant for Banjolele but ukulele works fine aswell (only difference is the sound)
Thank you so much. The versions i found on spotify on RUclips felt so empty without that slow acoustic intro.
@waŋblí my pleasure man, glad people are finding this
Thank you dude 🙏 Ive been looking for this on and off for months
nah, thank YOU man, I've been pretty disappointed with the video's performance (not making any money off it, I just really want people to come across this full version rather than the other ones on youtube since this is sort of exclusive). You've made my day by letting me know I've made your day 😂
