Found this vid when my mom was still driving me to school with a 740. Now 14 years later I daily a turbo 940 which hopefully will reach 400hp soon. Thanks for the inspiration ✌🏽

Had an old '79 Volare coupe with a 318... Nothing fancy, or to write home about... Engine and drivertrain were always reliable... It was the body and rustability of these cars that were bad!

My father had a Volvo 740 back in 1992 when i was 16 my sister used it as her wedding car that year it was a beautiful silver machine . used to love going for drives in that car with my Dad

my 86' 740 gle has straightpipe from convertor back. sounds nice, just makes the car sound a lot faster than it is, haha.

another fun thing with sweden is that the ice on some lakes are up to 1m (about 40 inches) thick, that means that you can drive cars on it, and its even more fun to take out a tuned volvo 740/940 on the ice :)

What gearbox do you use? Probably not an M46 or M47, they wouldn't be able to stand those amounts of power for more than 1000 kms. Perhaps an M90, but I guess it isn't a stock one, right?
+22fret I don´t know for sue, but i´m pretty sure it´s BMW gearbox. Getrag 260 maybe. Pretty common to swap over the M46/7/M90 housing and weld it on a sturdy BMW gearbox :)
i dont know what he has but it is pretty common that people change to The bmw zf gear box insted of The volvo m46/7 or The m90 cuz they work pretty good up to 300 hk but after that it is most common that 3rd gear goes bcuz it is a lot of tork in 3rd
