Yea lol. I've been speaking about gameplay reviews a lot in the past. It's something i use and was crucial for my personal growth as a player. About time i put it in a video.

Same here. Another tip is not to be too aggressive with destroying your opponents lesser threats. Take your time and hold back your creatures and removal until it's most advantageous.

Oh this was the meta where I heavily prioritized mono red or heavy red + light splash. And red often didn't want to go for 2nd color in Heelcutter era. So I started with that in mind. Current meta and extra sheet is different bcs you'd rather be 2 colors when drafting red. With that mindset I don't like wrecking mana for an early w card. Out of context that pick looks wacky i know :).

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words. I agree the deck isn’t terrible, but I do feel this format has an archetype-matching issue. Heroic, Grixis Control, and maybe Gates seem to be a tier above, so I’ve found that doing everything you can to land in one of those archetypes can make a big difference. Honestly, I really didn’t want to end up in a wacky deck, but sometimes you have to work with what you’re given!

Technically, I could’ve played the last match for the extra gems, but with all the editing involved, I felt it was better to wrap it up and save some time. 2-2 means we are still out of draft 2.

and yes I also agrre butler was important here, justa very though decision. I have seen whip win too many games by itself

Have you considered focusing on gameplay decisions as well? Most people focus heavily on drafting, but gameplay-like sequencing, resource management, and understanding tempo-often matters even more. It’s something that isn’t discussed as much in content, but reviewing your past games can help you spot areas to improve. 17Lands logs are a great tool for that, and getting your hindsight or another person’s perspective on your reviews can be hugely beneficial. For me personally, playing competitive constructed has really improved my limited gameplay. Constructed tends to be more complex in that area.

@dafore_ Thanks for your response! In terms of gameplay I'm not amazing, my peak is Diamond in constructed (mostly Standard). I am missing 15 or so rares from a complete Golgari deck but even then I don't think I'm good enough to be in the top 1500 yet so it's definitely something I should improve. I also use 17lands! But I struggle with memorizing every card in Foundations so when I'm facing Selesnya I'll waste Bake into a Pie on a random Angel of Finality because I have no ways to block it in my deck just to have my opponent drop Unicorn and crush me with tempo. Or if you want a funnier story I had back to back games where my opponents dropped 3 Tolarian Terrors on me. The first one ripped a Terror off the top 3 turns back-to-back-to-back. The second player had Garruk's Uprising and slammed 4 Terrors in 1 turn. Obviously I lost both of those games. I wish 17lands had a way to sort by color combo so I could find the biggest threats in colors and lose a little less to bad threat assessment.

Opening sylvan scavenging is luck, but it is nearly unbeatable in draft.

Let’s go! Green is on fire right now. Even 17L stats back it up now, but most people haven’t caught on yet.

@@dafore_ if you go on untapped and filter by mythic only, mono green is the most winning deck by a fairly large margin and has been for most of the format I believe.

anyway the number of games is still lower than others, this means that the win rate is high because the color is underdrafted

Consistency makes up for a tap land here and there. Limited norm of 8/8 land ratio is pretty bad to begin with. I like up to 2 duals in any 2 color deck. Heroic is more of a setup deck than a normal aggro deck is another thing.

It's as good or better as any card in that pack but i like green the most to start the draft with.
