As I listen to this fantastic choir I am looking at the Sienese masterpiece of the "Annunciation," painted by Simone Martini in 1333. Reminds me that there is hope for all of us.
Really wonderful job to this group but I'm wondering how they can sing this amazingly beautiful and moving song with such bland facial expression. It's like they aren't touched at all by the words or even the sound... Is it just me?

I don't normally comment on these but felt compelled in this case. I concur with David's post. I believe the singers in the choral group have been trained to lock in and "sing as one" to maximize the blend of volume, pitch, and vowel shapes to produce strong overtones. Although individual expression might look better / more natural, the potential downside (for some pieces) is it doesn't sound as beautiful.
It's a amazing song.. it touch your heart, it touch your mind and it touch your soul. I'm singing in a choir, so I know different kinds of Ave Maria's.. but this one.. I haven't enough words.. I can hear it every day, every hour and every minute.. So that means a lot.. The choir is also amazing.. Their voices are perfect connected to each other.. Their voices are one.. and when it sounds like one voice it is perfect..
