Mimi, great tutorial! I've been doing this for a long time but never knew about cutting the fabric to decrease the bulk. I usually took a little hammer and with a small cutting board pounded the heavy parts until they were flatter. I have a singer heavy duty also so it just glides through.

I need to warn you, though, I see there is a guy commenting 9n your videos and asking you to do videos on how your sewing machines work and to show how you step on the machine foot to make it work. He used to do it to me on my other channel (theseamstressatthecottage)to the point of harassment. You can do what byou want with it but I thought I needed to warn you. Please be careful.
