Гражданская Оборона - зомби (zombi)

Censorship made recording and distributing music problematic, and confiscated black-market cassettes tapes would be destroyed. This track was circulated on cassette tape hidden inside zombified matrushka dolls. The tape could then be spliced into a cassette and played when it had safely reached its destination. KURSK - Javel Maraton / Slidey Decks DJ Collective

KURSK - Please read for more context K-141 Kursk was a Russian navy nuclear-powered cruise missile submarine. It was lost with all 118 hands when it sank in the Barents Sea. A few crew members were not on board that day because they were sick. This quirk of fate saved their lives. None of them were able to cope with their good fortune, however, and they all began to suffer severe mental distres...
Pan Kola - Without a song (Get the fuck outta here)

"We did the whole thing live, right there on that spot on the Williamsburg Bridge where Sonny Rollins used to practice during his time out, just set up the drums and jammed on Sonny's version of Without a Song whenever the subway rumbled by and did the spoken bit in between. We had wind, rain, people passing by, we were so nervous about getting caught, I mean in those days you could serve more ...
Skateboard Kantele

MÄSÄ UNIVERSE - FRIDAY BONFIRE The phenomenon of secret instruments arose hand in hand with proscription, and the tighter the controls the more inventive people became, always coming up with new ways to hide their forbidden music. This wonderful example looks just like a skateboard when it is hanging on the wall, but in fact it is a cleverly disguised kantele, the national instrument of Finland...
Show me the Shaman

This collaboration between Topi Lee and Che K Jail circulated widely under the radar and was in fact given an official release but it suffered the same fate as many other innovative recordings of the time - if it was able to get past the censors its commercial appeal was most likely close to non-existent. It received no radio play. Although many people were familiar with the track and it had a ...
Heart Sutra
Просмотров 29211 лет назад
As the War on Music began to bring pressure to bear on musicians, many attempted to circumvent the restrictions by trying to find loopholes in the legislation. This piece of music, titled Heart Sutra after it's use of the Buddhist chant, was recorded but never released. The musicians used religious chanting (which was legal at the time) to bend the rules, and the use of atonal and arhythmic ele...
Crass - The Sound of Free Speech
Просмотров 8 тыс.11 лет назад
When record pressing plants refused to handle the Crass E.P. The Feeding of the Five Thousand in 1978 because they objected to the first track Asylum, Crass removed it and replaced it with a silent track titled The Sound of Free Speech. thewaronmusic.wordpress.com/
Steve not so big on free speech nowadays is he
0:57Кураш хеч унтилмайду уйгурлар
Pretty good, but the live version is much better.
Ey ROBBIM uzing bilgan yaxshilikni ber Uygurumga!!! Omiyn!!!
Atlan Uygurum
It was wonderful to sing under the monument and hear the resonance of those differently sized metal pipes. eerie!
this song is literally more relevant than ever before... with blasphemy laws being re-instated, and all critics of ''inclusivity and diversity'' being shunned, losing their jobs and/or being taken to court. its just blasphemy against the religion of social justice, that gets punished, instead of Christianity. i can't help i was born in sin... the original sin of being a white male
That is irritating!
Thank you. Wish I saw this. I decided to go to the Natural History Museum instead of this park on my one day in Helsinki (loved visiting the museum). I was curious if the sounds were going to remind me of the violin concerto or something.
😂😂

Whod think of this now. I'm thinking of peace and quiet. With the occasional fart.and back to quiet. Sirens. Quiet. Opening of a door. Peace and quiet.
Steve Reich?
more true now than ever.
Erkinlik meşghili yansın her yerde !!! Yansın her yerde
I have the 7" and the first album pressing. I also remember when they banned the single and Crass had the intelligent mind to record the silence
The single wasn't banned. The pressing plant refused to press the original Feeding Of The 5000 12" (on Small Wonder) due to "blasphemous" opening track, Asylum. So Crass set up Crass Records and released the track on a 7" (with Shaved Women on the b-side) themselves. Later on they re-released the Feeding 12" on their label , with (a slightly altered version of) Asylum as the opening track.
I have two versions of feeding. Do you know why they called the Crass versions "The Second Sitting".? Because the Crass records were the second pressings. Small Wonder were raided in 1978 and told to remove reality Asylum from the album, else. They release the 7inch version AFTER the second sitting. The silent version was released BEFORE the second sitting.
I got this song stuck inside my head now, it is in everyone's.
Можно слушать и слушать сын уйгурского народа горжусь своим народом
Певец композитор уйгурского народа вечная память помним любим Кураш!!
Very cool, thanks for posting! Do you know how hard the wind was blowing that day? I wonder what wind speed would be needed to get a sound out. I might like to go in person on a properly windy day and listen.
Very original! Nice job.
More poignant then ever!
Best music ever
Thanks for posting. I love this track! My band currently covers this song!
LOL
ROAsXe lol
Fun fact; Dresden, a Perth industrial band from the early 90s, did just that.
Wish I was THERE.
Brilliant!!!
