Voice of the Void was my album of 2016, and honestly...there hasn't really been any albums released since that have topped it for me. They probably get tired of the Mastodon/Opeth comparisons, but they really did fill that literal void for me that Opeth left behind when they dropped the torch after Watershed. Only heard the three singles released so far like most, but I have to say the clean vocals have improved dramatically. They actually sound a lot like Jerry Cantrell now, which ironically also released a new single a few weeks ago. Played the three new Anciient tracks for a friend right after the Cantrell track, and he said "the vocals on these sound a bit like modern AIC to me". 😆 edit: LMAO. I wrote that before hitting the point in the video where that gets mentioned.

3:20 Hey! Mayo here! I just sit down to watch it after being in my Watch Later for a while! And yeah that came from one of the Metal Battle Canada organizers mentioning that he heard about the critiques and that they thought it was great, but they didn't in the other ones he had been involved in (QC, ON). Might have changed 3-4 years later? I don't know but yeah I'll mention it to the other organizers!

Ok … I’ll be the first … I worked at the Highlands .. Cambridge , Ont. Canada during my high school years … Karen had a show at our club … road crew were great while we were setting up for her and we had a great afternoon !! … Lee came out and did her show … all the classics but the songs from the album out at the time … “ Lee Aaron “ .. 1987 … I remember during the show… Karen, standing on a riser in the centre of the stage took off her full length leather coat to show her stage outfit .. a body suit … and at the “ catcalls” that started coming she said to the audience “ Really??” .. I started laffing !!! … you go !! … after the show and we had taken apart the stage and had it all on the trucks to go we headed for the dressing room to have a drink more and celebrate with the crew and the band … after meeting Lee and having a couple of pictures taken by my buddy Larry with Lee sitting on my lap I also got my album I brought autographed by her saying Thanks for the help … I’m looking at it now … unfortunately Larry was hit by a drunk driver and killed in the accident so I don’t have the pictures … a bittersweet night at 19 years old … met one of my Idols , lost one of my friends … I have memories of Larry … and memories of Karen and my album signed for Thanx too prove it … all the best Karen / Lee … keep making music and being an artist … you made a 19 year olds with a crush on you nights one night … 🇨🇦🙏💯❤️

Brittney has the positivity and outlook on just everything that humans were and are meant to have if we want to create a world worth living in. Hearing her talking so genuinely about helping the other bands was just so magically wholesome. Maybe it’s just a Canada thing? Idk…UTA 4 LIFE!!!!

It's funny that he didn't talk much about Erik. Everytime he asked any questions about Erik, Rachel just answered them quick. I'm sure at the time, he must have known Erik was leaving, that's why he didn't talk much about him. There were also many articles that they were gonna re-record a few songs off of Subhuman Race. He denies any of that in this interview. He knew Erik was on his way out. It's really too bad. Erik's a legend.

BOTH the song AND the video for "Green and Glass" are MASTERPIECES. Nothing short of incredible. The hero female cyborg in the video looks a lot like Brittany. Long song and video but more than worth the time.
