It ingeniously crafts a holographic mask resembling a human face, disguising itself to join the “Universe’s Number One Singer Grand Prix”, a competition exclusive to humans. The forgotten melodies it hummed daily amidst the scrapyard surprisingly captivated the audience’s hearts. On the day of the finals, the grand arena is packed with eager spectators. Anticipation fills the air: “Today, we’ll determine the best singer in the universe! The winner will also earn a ‘Universal Wish’, capable of fulfilling any desire! Let’s see who will emerge victorious!” Backstage in the waiting room, the robot shares its dream: “I’ve decided- I wish to become a real human.” It gazes at the beautiful faces in its nearby town, sweetly smiling at the thought. Just look at yourself.” An ethereal hand brushes away the tear-streaked rust. “What? But I’m still made of metal?” It touched its face in shock, feeling the cold, pitted scars. “This is my face.. Where’s my mask?” The robot attempts to flee but its leg refuse to move. “They’ve seen me..” Thunderous applause and cheers coalesce into a roaring wave, holding it firmly in place. “You sang beautifully!” “What a wonderful voice!” “We love you!” “But.. the me that you love is a fabrication…” “We don’t despise you.” “No! It’s the real you we love!” The tear infused with the emotion of its song transformed it into a real human.
