This is our journey to a simple life. Many of us have got tired of the busy city life and looking for an escape. Not all of us have the luxury to leave the city and move to the countryside for a simple life. We are on a journey to a simple life while still living in a big city. Minimalist and self-sufficient lifestyle with priority on healthy food is our main focus.
Simple living in NETHERLANDS | What is it REALLY like?!
The beginning of autumn is the best time for apple picking in Europe. This is also a part of our simple living family routine in the Netherlands. This fall weekend, we made a surprise for our daughter as a family activity. Firstly we went for fruit picking and later we visited a riding school to feed Maya's besties, the horses. She is spending a great time in nature and with animals. We also think that it is very important for her development.

Our 2 year old toddler is riding her balance bike, Veloretti mini tricycle with us. Very similar to Trybike and wishbone balance bike. How to teach tricks are also seen and race in gliding. I love everything about this video. I’d love to create this type of content if I ever decide to share my art on RUclips. I agree with what you’ve mentioned. I’m learning how to be frugal especially because I’m in a low paying medical field as I’m trying to plan an outdoor wedding that’s in a few months. I don’t have enough money to buy a dress yet, but I want to ask my man to teach me how to work with the wood planks, panels, and pallets we have outside. I want to make some type of arch, runway, and benches. It’ll look so beautiful with the river backdrop. I have to figure out how I want to do this because it’s a two hour drive, so I’ll either have to transport building equipment or finished products there. I’d rather handmake what I can to save money especially because I have rough ideas, and we have building supplies that I can potentially use. I agree that love is the most important thing, and I don’t have to be concerned if my siblings or those I know don’t show up. The ones who really love us will make time to celebrate us. It has been almost 3 years for us and we are very happy with the bike too! Our daughter is now 4 yo and she switched to 2 wheels balance bike mode 😍

Nature? The so called nature in the Netherlands is full of pesticides and chemicals. There is no nature left here. Mine advice is washing everything for you consume. And the flowers but them only in your garden not in the house because there are full of chemistry that's harm you and your loved ones

@@JourneytoSimpleLife myself working in laboratory and offered research. unfortunately I have to tell you that those data only count for a few chemicals. the cocktails that cause all the chemicals together are not included unfortunately. this makes it very dangerous for consumers. many people who work with these chemicals, such as farmers and their family's, have high concentrations of toxic substances in their bodies. that causes various diseases. I see many Americans flock to videos like this and then wanting to come over here. Beware the housing market is insane, and children don't become happy because of you moving here. You'll need to adapt to the culture, language and mindset. Because if you don't change, it's a lost effort. And beautiful videos also hide that parenting is difficult everywhere. So expect no magic.
It is definitely true that only moving to the Netherlands is not going to give you a life, like in the video. We have been intentionally looking for a "simple life" while still connected to modern society and technology. And we think it is relatively easier here in the Netherlands if that's what you are looking for. 💕 You might like to have a look at this video. Please, if you visit the fields on your own (without a tour guide), don’t wander through the fields without permission of the owner. Even if you stay on the small paths between the flowerbeds. These bulbs/flowers are people’s livelihood. My grandfather had bulb fields and a lot of tourists trampled the flowers and bulbs near the road because they wanted a picture with the whole family in the flower fields. He had to put a high fence around the fields to protect his harvest. It shouldn’t be necessary.
Thanks a lot for the kind warning! We have made our photo/video shoot with the approval of the owner but you are right. Especially the fields very close to the main roads are visited very often without permission. More importantly not very careful about where they walk.

Idyllic video, and true that Dutch children are apparently the happiest children in the world, but this does not portray the life of the average child here. Most children live in cities and don't spend their days wandering around farmland and animals. Children's happiness is based on early independence, health care, schooling system, open opportunities , clean environment etc., so if you make a video about what it's REALLY like, then please make a video showing what it's REALLY like....
Doesn't sell well. And though what is shown can be done, it is exactly what is not the reason why Dutch kids are happy. If the little girl had cycled to the orchard and the horses on her own, it would have been a better picture. But here the one on one relation between mother and child is shown.
Hi Jan, thanks for your comment. Actually we tried to show what is it like to live a SIMPLE LIFE in Netherlands. And of course this is our perspective and can not show the average life of an average Dutch child. We focused on nature is easily accessible even from big cities. Which is not the case in every big city around the world. And this is just one of the many reasons of happy kids. This video shows a small portion of happy kids activities from our point of view. We can't talk about all the kinds in Netherlands, for sure.
