Hi, Congrats to you'll, its a beautiful wedding fusion. Just want to ask on few things, I'm a Catholic as well and my fiancée is a Hindu. We initially wanted to have both a church and temple wedding like these beautiful couple too. But according to the Parish Priest and Catholic Church's Canon Law (§3), it is forbidden to have, either before or after the canonical celebration in accordance with §1, another religious celebration of the same marriage for the purpose of giving or renewing matrimonial consent. Meaning under Canon Law, before or after, there isn't supposed to be any other/another religious wedding ceremony apart from the Catholic Church wedding ceremony rites. This is comprised of two parts: 1. According to Canon Law, it's not allowed to have two weddings, as it's forbidden to have another religious celebration of the same marriage to give or renew matrimonial consent before or after the church wedding. 2. You aren't supposed to worship another deity/God apart from your own religion's God. Respect is fine, but no worshiping. It has been stated by the (Catholic Church; Canon Law;) hence, doing the rites in the temple and taking vows is considered worshiping. I understand that in the Hindu Indian context, the Temple and Temple Priest (Ayyar) are being understanding towards the interfaith couples for their interfaith blending marriage, Which they may have no objections to the other partner, who is Hindu, taking part in the church wedding ceremony rites for their Catholic partner. However, on the other hand, the Catholic Church forbids the Catholic party from taking part in any other religion's ceremony or rites, as that's considered worshiping. I'm confused, as I've seen others do it. Like this couple too, in this Video, How did they manage it? And how are things going for them now after their interfaith blending of two religions marriage? I also need advice on it, as I'm told by parish priest and Church that it's against the Catholic faith. Thank you.
