Grand-daughters running trains
For this first-time event, I decided on a minimalist method of explaining to my granddaughters where to point the remote, and mentioning its speed knob and direction button. Then I handed the remote over.
All went fine, they figured it out. However, I think I need to make more defined pathways to walk upon...

Northern Central Railway Trip
Просмотров 98Месяц назад
Our oldest daughter Rebecca created this video of our family train trip aboard the Northern Central Railway, between New Freedom and York PA. This is a very historic line, upon which Abe Lincoln traveled on his way to deliver the Gettysburg Address, and also via his funeral train to IL. This was the "Howard Tunnel" route, a 4-hour total excursion with a few stops, such as at Hanover Junction to...
G'Daughter's Model Train Cars and a Ride Around the Layout
Просмотров 323Месяц назад
Our granddaughters are visiting, and they made some very cool customizations of Hartland 4-wheel car kits. They called it their "Day of the Dead Train," probably because of the Mardi Gras feel and the fox skull... Our daughter (their mom) Rebecca took all these clips, showing the new cars on my indoor test loop, the layout, and than a ride around the layout (which I've also posted separately).
Train Ride Around the Layout

An updated rider's eye view of 2/3 of the layout, taken by my daughter Rebecca. I'd made a similar video years ago, so there will be some differences in mountains, foliage (all by my wife Linda), and structures. Yes, I need to clean the track, adjust building placement, etc....

How I clean my alcohol used in 3d printing (part 1 of 3)

This is a quick and crappy vid of how I clean my 3d print cleaning alcohol after it's been grossly contaminated with resin particles. Sorry, I'm no videographer.... But hopefully this will convey the basics. Main equipment I'm using (I got all from Amazon): - wide-mouth 1 gal pickle jars with lids (the jugs you see here are awful for cleaning!) - a little display turntable - 2 6w UV flood light...
Shed installation part 3

Shed installation part 3 of 3 I had a shed delivered last night, made by Penn Dutch Structures. Very difficult site, and not much room to maneuver. But the gentleman handling the install sure knew his stuff. And the trailer, which moves in a number of ways using a wireless remote, is amazing. These videos are lengthy and boring, but I left them as-is. You'll want to skip around as you see fit.

Deb & Stan Ames' SJR&P Garden Railroad
Просмотров 41 тыс.Год назад
I was blessed today with visiting the gorgeous, endless, and completely functional garden railroad of Deb and Stan Ames in Massachusetts. It was rainy today, so not much operation was going on. However, all the track is used during their ops sessions. The layout is rail-powered DCC-controlled, with stainless steel track. Stan has built many of the turnouts himself, including those for the dual ...

Nice video Cliff!
Beautifully “Chaotic”. Or Organic Growth? Anyway very beautiful.
Stunning work!
Great layout. What a labor of love.
Too cute: one with pink slippers, other with bare foots. How many trains can you run at one time?
Thanks! Practically speaking, with only 1 remote, only 1 train. I plan on getting another remote though.
It would be cool if you reenact the train ride to the future scene from BTTF Part III. The only thing missing is a Delorean. I don’t think a playmobil version will do. But I’ll bet the Lego version of the BTTF delorean will do. Wouldn’t you think?
That's a great idea! 😄
@@VnTCliffy I love the sound of that. All you need right now is that small Lego Delorean set that can fit on those tracks. Maybe a different BTTF Delorean toy.
This is a good video.
Absolutely charming and fun to watch.
Thx for the vid. The vegetation looks awesome. You have to fix that chuffs/revolution because it's bugging me. Ha! Marty
I agree, it's really bugging me too! Thanks Marty!
Awesome
Beautiful. Enormous.
OMG, can not wait for your model train cab ride <3
would have been nice to see some trains running
Nice layout the scale to the naturel surroundings is very pleasant to see. Buildings could be very cool😅thanks for sharing
Are LENZ controllers used for wired operation?
"Promosm"
It is nice to have a lot of friends/club members who help with a layout this size ..
Cliff, seems like black magic!
Wow, that's impressive. They have created a world of wonder there.
Simply breathtaking
Easier than my driveway, Cliff! Assume the shed is railway related???
Hi John! It's for my new shop, where I'll hopefully make stuff for my RR hobbies, so yeah I guess it is! My wife's yarn dying business is growing, and she's taking over my small garage shop, so I'll be man-caving it here. 🤪
Cute
Wow
Intricate layout. Very impressive. Now can you send some trains?
Talk about elaborate, I'm speechless!!! And the amount of switching is way beyond. That layout must-have been a bear to lay out and make work !!! It's truly incredible!!! Big ass props to you!!! WOW!!!
Beautiful!! Strange that there seems to be a lot of single wagons in short sidings around the place??
Very nice layout. Best regards from Germany
Which is the scale of the layout? Is it HO? How are try tracks maintain ? You mentioned DCC current aswell…how to keep all the wagons and locomotives away from the rain? Under some tunnels.?
Когда Сити Скайлайн уже не хватает. Шикарно.
Thats some train set. Gonna need track gangs
wow that is huge and awesome. lots of time
Nice. Ii just have one question...... Do you ever have any electrical issues with rain ?
Hi, thanks. It's not my layout, it belongs to the Ames. Stan manages the electrical, and has no problems. The stainless steel track sends power to the locomotives, and doesn't need much cleaning (if any). Each joint has a jumper wire soldered across (using a very hot iron). They've been running this layout for many years with this approach.
That is amazing! My wife would kill me :(
Nice video, LIKE.
Really great!
Awesome😮😮😮😮😮😮
Layout looks great but the video was making me dizzy/motionsick.
very very nice layout -do you plan a video with trains running as well? this place is not open to the public, right?
Hi, and yes it sure is! The layout is located in Massachusetts, and they have regular operating sessions with many trains running. You can contact them through amherstrail dot org if you're interested.
WOW so big is a lovely layout thanks
Promo-SM
Layout very nice BUT very & very boring description plus slow movie. We want to see the trains moving not just show the layout.
The sniffing was a pain in the butt too. What does it take to blow your nose for heavens sake.
Looks like a 5 chime on 26
Thanks for. Sharing. Take care
😱😱👍👍
fantastic
Wow. Nice scenes.
Buy anything?!
Haahaha!! Not at this store, but I got some tools at the first (big) store on the tour.
not just the block,as it's an inline id say its an alco 6-- or similar
were they going to put that engine in 201?
Should go up the road a few miles to Kit Kat road and show errybody some real history. 😼
