LOS ANGELES (KABC) An incredible group of Japanese-American soldiers in World War II changed the world and touched many lives with their dignity and honor. The 100th and 442nd Regimental Combat Teams were some of the greatest units in U.S. military history, yet so few in America have ever heard of them. While they were on the battlefield, their families were incarcerated in internment camps sim...

Thank you for your service
Brave Heroic men
The pianist was probably annoyed haha
Lea phoned this one in.
Is there a movie about these please tell me if it has..I like to watch..these is a great story.
Go For Broke starring Van Johnson good movie
I had the honor and privilege to meet a Japanese American World War 2 Veteran in Long Beach California yesterday. I wanted to pay my respects and tell him that there were still many who remember their courage and sacrifice. He told me how he lost his good friend by a snipers bullet just a day before the end of the war in Europe. I could tell it still bothered him. God bless them all for everything they did.
Tbs Japanese Americans are model citizens. I haven't heard of any crimes committed by Japanese and I am 90 years old. The are not on welfare either.
My uncle's were in the 442, it's sad that even when they came back from the war prejudice is still here on to all Japanese today 2022.
Don't know
Stockholm syndrome
Go for Broke!!!! My uncle Hiromu Morikawa , Pvt. 442nd/100th Bco Inf , K.I.A Oct 30 1944 on the last day of the rescue of the lost battalion....
Salutes the legendary 100th/442nd. Go For Broke. You will never be forgotten.
My great great grandfather would say you're welcome but hes no longer with us. Seeing his motto would make him cry.Not sad just pride
I guess White soldiers were more important than 800-slanted eye American Japanese soldiers to save 200-white soldiers from Texas. Point being All Europeans were incredibly respectful knowing they wore the American flag on their arms. It's always the same vicious circle, attitude of Racial superiority and the disrespect to others that don't personify Trump's White American Soldiers ideal. He could learn a lot from these American soldiers. They never complained, just went out to serve and Crushed the Nazis, the Fascists, and Imperial Japanese Army.
"Trump's White American Soldiers idea"....Shit typically spoken by an ill educated person of the left......this same leftist mentality would tear down monuments/statues of the 100th & 442nd just to be anti American or anti Trump. True ignorance of history is racist.
@@akajd5907 stfu its all true and your defiance makes it even more real.
@@tannercollins9863 thank you tannercollins9863
@@akajd5907 you are welcome
I watch WWII in HD they talked about the Red Tails But I didn't know Japanese Americans fought the war in Europe. That's I want to know about 442nd
The Japanese were the greatest soldiers the US ever had.
As an American who is living in Japan currently, this made me cry.
2:06. A lump rises in the throat. So many, many of those very men seen in this very film reel, in the youth of their lives, in the act of duty, in battle, all those young men, who gave our country the Supreme Sacrifice.
Excellent but I prefer Ramin Karimloo. He does a fantastic job
She's my "Beyonce"
She's excellent as always !
I really like her, but I think she should really try to go for a non-rhotic accent for performances like Les Mis and such. Rhotic accents do not fit very well.
uggh that piano's wrong chords are bothering me so much :/
Anyone know what key this is in? Absolutely beautiful.
She is great in whatever she does <3
I watched alot of History Channel, which aired many documentaries about WW2, from the allied views, the Nazis, War in Europe, in Africa, in the Pacific, in Asia, even the War effort in America. The 442nd barely get a mention. Why is that? I think they deserve more than that. Despite how they were treated, with families interred in camps, under watch, they proved their loyalty and bravery. It's a shame.
+BigDnm01 hopefully they get a proper movie one day. i'd love to hear more about their story.
theyve had 2
One of the main reasons of this lack of recognition is that the texans they saved was "fort Alamo" ones, quite embarassing for the US opinion : US elite troop saved by "japaneses"...
really amazing movie or a TV show, it's been long, only movie for 442nd is Go For Broke! (1951). they need a modern film people get know about the 442nd Japanese Americans
@ulhurusurf club I wasn't arguing about the facts, but about the lack of recognition of what they did...
Justmyopinionlol, while there were 800 casualties, that number includes KIA and wounded. My generation owes so much to the men of the 100th/442nd/MIS.
question has Mr. Takei Purchase to land and or would he want a museum with a few buildings of that location /time etc
More people need to know about this. It's ashamed how it is normally glossed over in the history books because it is connected to illegal interment of US citizens.
That's amazing! So inspiring! ThanksLea!
These items should be in their own museum, not in a basement where no one can appreciate their story.
Oh, my... I hope Allegiance comes to South Florida.
Gay or straight ya gotta love George!
Oh My
Truley the King of SciFi
<3 George
Nice!
lol wtf is a trekker?
Bravo !!
They went far and beyond they died for the same country that put their families in camps yet they served with honor and bravery for this land God bless them the Nisei and USA.
Galing niya talaga... one of a kind!
Omg my forever idol.
Bravo my idol !!!!
Lea is just a wonderful person...I can always describe her interviews as witty and intelligent...I am delighted listening and watching her interviews.
800 Japanese Americans died to save 200 white Americans. Talk about deadly racist discrimination by the white commanders.
Seems like 800 Americans died willingly to save their fellow Americans, all 200 of them.
I would've loved to see les miz on screen with real theater actors like lea salonga. I mean come on, ive nothing against hollywod actors but There is no substitute for theater actors. Im afraid hollywood actors may just bastardize the integrity of this icon musical by turning it into disney-type camp rock musical.
Holy fuck, George looks like he's in dire need of a blood transfusion. He really looks old and weak :/
I can only imagine how happy Darren Criss is, being a fan of Alan Menken and his songs. I'm pretty giddy with this performance because I'm a fan of all three of them. :D
another fantastic performance from the ONLY Lea Salonga
LEA SALONGA!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!
