Sorry, don’t remember that long ago, likely somewere in the $125-$175 range.
how much did this sell for?
Sold by Neckermann, but made by Iskra in Yugoslavia :)
Which power supply will you recommend me for 9v ~12v for AM Transmitter?
sorry, I have no experience with 9-12 VDC power supplies. Perhaps use one from an old laptop or similar device?
@@hobknobradio5511 nevermind, I just connected the 12v, now it works, thanks
Awesome
I just bought a standing horse with the saddle. It is stunning. Now I'm fascinated with the Abbotwares horses!
Me too! I have several standing horse radios plus a rearing horse radio and a a native girl/wolf clock.
Just got a D724 1938 True tone radio. Looking for parts.
I like those Truetone dials. Did you sell this one?
yes
How much for the Radio?
This is Not an FM convertor,,,, THIS is a Real FM convertor ruclips.net/video/0aMAzpWNJA4/видео.html made in 1947 this unit does not have a speaker. Not trying to dis your video at all. I just think you would have fun with something like this is all. Cheers in Radio!
Sounds great! This must have sold for a lot of money.
Hi there! It runs perfectly...thanks for share this model! I Wonder this gramophone is absolutely the same as my Victrola you could find the vid' here: ruclips.net/video/ECFdw25YxIs/видео.htmlsi=vYUNVou8Xhs1nXjd
That really is a beautiful looking radio. Thank you for sharing.
I just picked up one of these for 25.00. It needs to be redone but I wanted to add a Bluetooth. Thanks for posting.
beautiful radio. Thanks for sharing.
muito legal
NICE! Exactly what I aspire to with the one I recently pulled out of my late uncle's attic. Is that the dark walnut finish? If so, that's the color of mine. It is in the original box with walnut marked on it. Mine has connections on the back for "stereo" speakers but I don't quite get how that would work since one would have to be for the ground wire. Ditto for the single RCA phono input. When you have the iPod connected, is there a way to put it in mono mode? Or does the adapter have a built-in mono mixer? Anyway, no power at all on mine, so either a broken switch or dead power tube. Winter project.
Hi, congratulations on the find, they are great sounding radios. 1. Mine was walnut 2. I don’t recall the configuration of the jacks in the back for remote speakers. If they are RCAs, the ground is the metal outside of the jack and the channel input is the center pin, so any speakers that have RCA outputs should work fine. 3. I use these jacks to convert 3.5 to RCA a.co/d/97tHFRI Although you are losing a channel, the sound is usually very good. If it’s not good enough for you, you’ll need to build a stereo to mono adapter. From your device output, the ground will go directly to the radios input ground. Then add a 1000 ohm resistor to each output wire, tie the other ends of the resistors together and send them to the center pin of of a male RCA jack. Hope this helps.
@@hobknobradio5511 no, not RCA jacks for the speakers - just a pair of screws and neither is marked as ground, so it would be for one single external speaker. But the odd thing is that it says "stereo". The only RCA jack there is for the phono input.
Has this radio sold?
Yes, thanks for the inqury.
@@hobknobradio5511 one more question...I was able to find a radio like this one. Can you tell me where to go in order to get the adapter so I can attach my cellphone to it?
I get the adapters on Amazon. I can’t attach the link here but you should be able to find them by searching Amazon for “CE 2-Pack Gold Plated 3.5mm 1/8 inch Female Mono Jack to RCA Male Adapter”.

this would be awesome to have in the 70's
I ordered a dial from RadioDaze for my 1400H and it was just a dial with no cover, didn't see any like this. I ended up making a cover from a strip cut from a Smart Water bottle. Were they originally like mine or yours?
These Stromberg models had a couple of different dial face configurations and colors. The one on my video was the original on that particular radio. The dial faces from Radio Daze come flat and you have to carefully bend and round them to get them in place. If you received a glass faceplate that was an error. If it was plastic, it needs to be bent into place. I am not aware of any models that were built with a flat inner faceplate and a clear external one.
I have seen some that have separate dials and covers. My dial doesn't look wide enough to fit, but the water bottle strip fits perfectly.
It be nice to play old radio dhoes
Eski tip radyoları da çok seviyorum!
Bu radyo çok güzel!
I love it I saw it . left it, and went back and got it.. Power tube not lit , all transformer s check good. I'm going to restore it . thanks for the video.
They are nice sounding radios, glad you were able to pick one up. I've had a couple and the biggest problem seems to be getting a good connection between the Loctal tubes and sockets.
@@hobknobradio5511 when I got mine somebody had run two separate outside wires to two of the pins on one of the power tube. Upon inspection one of the transformers was unhooked either by mistake or just came unhooked or unsoldered from the switch. Seems they were powering the grid from another source for a while or something or the heater
Wow! I'm in love with vintage Radios! I have a Commodore, and I will always play it in the short summers out my window up here in Northern Maine. Crosley is wonderfully dynamic!
I love the Crosley's, great reception and sound. The most common seems to be bad IF cans, but they are usually repairable.
Just got one for Christmas. Excellent addition to my radio room. !
Amazing nostalgia soon I will buy a radio from you Travis
Thanks! I always publish the video a day or two before taking them out to Johns Road Antiques. So watch for one you like!
Beautiful set Thank you Travis
Thank you! It does look really good for 67 years old!
Thank you for the informative video! We just purchased this at the John's Road Antique Mall. We are so excited!
Thank you! That is a very nice sounding radio.
Tuve una televisión de esa marca
No other radio compares to A Zenith receive. Wonderful demonstration here thank you Travis
That’s a nice performing radio there. I collected, repaired most, destroyed a few in my younger days of experimentation and learning. I had a whole house full of radios and television sets to the point of my home looking like a museum! I got rid of all that as I got older and I do miss some of them. For me, I never made a dime from the hobby but I loved every minute of it. I just stumbled across your channel or should I say it found me? That G E radio you shown today looks really nice.enjoy the hobby while you can as life sometimes gets in the way and you just got to go with the flow.
Thank you! Yes, nothing more satisfying than bringing one of these back to life and passing it on to someone who will enjoy it. As you note, its a break even at best, but loads of fun!
Excellent demo and a wonderful job. I subscribed
Thanks!
Hi neighbor, you have some very nice radios, it's been a few weeks since I've been to the antique mall, so I hadn't seen this in person yet; just wondering, when you restore an old radio or phonograph in this case, do you also replace all the resistors as well? or just the caps?
Thank you. This record player had three capacitors, an old paper cap and two electrolytics which were replaced with new. I believe it only had one resistor that checked out within specs so it was not replaced. The two tubes also tested good so they were not replaced.
Nice video, thanks for posting!
Thanks for posting. I remember those when I was a kid. They get several hundred dollars for one in nice condition like yours, which is in excellent condition!
Do you have a current inventory list of available radios for purchase?
Sorry, but I do not. These radios usually sell within a few weeks of when I make the video. The best way to get one would be to watch for the videos and go out to the antique store in Boerne soon after the video is made. If you are not local, my apologies but I do not ship and only use the antique store as an outlet. thanks, Steve
Do you have inventory right now in boerne?
@@rubenpena2959 Hi Ruben, there are only a very few still out there as I have been out of state for several months. I will be back in April and should have 5 or 6 new ones by mid April. I think all that is left now is the Dahlberg hotel radio, the red RCA portable, a tan clock radio, and the 1942 Philco wooden radio. I do this for fun and not really as a business so that is why I'm slow to stock inventory. thanks,
Could you send me a link to the transmitter like yours please? What a great idea
Hi Beth, you can get something similar from Retro Radio www.retroradioshop.com/products/am-transmitter-and-bluetooth-adapter-for-retro-vintage-or-antique-radios-1 I build a similar unit (as seen on the video) for $49, but won't have any stocked at Boerne Antique Store for a few weeks as I'm away from home.
