I had one in 1982. Was a kid traveling with a group of college students. They HATED me for this watch! :-) (luckily, they had to be nice to me for other reasons!)

Dude, those upward leaders in your yard! And at one point, you could hear the crackle snap sizzle of the main bolt making the connection. I love it when you see upward leaders.

that is cool. I had one of those. My sister and I bought them after seeing an ad on TV in the middle of the night back in 1980. She got the cheap extra watch and I got this cool one in the video.

I had a watch in the early 80's that played this tune. I constantly had to play it for the other kids at school. Pretty ahead of its time seeing as Casio's of today still just beep.

I live in France, near the Swiss border, I wish I saw a lightning storm like you experienced. We have tstorms here but rather they give a few lightning strikes at maxima in a miles radius, not like you experienced on the video, so many in a close range you got!

My mom used to have an alarm clock that played this, when I was 2-5 that alarm clock would make me cry everytime it went off ha.
