We’re a German non-profit addressing the medical and educational needs of people living under acute poverty and terminal illnesses. In addition, we provide livelihood opportunities for destitute communities in developing contexts.

Bajura Mother Faces Challenges After Husband’s Death, Finds Support in Kathmandu’s Shanti Sewa Griha
Losing a loved one almost always heralds a tough time for any human being, bringing feelings of grief, sadness, anger, and anxiety. What happens when fear is added to the mix? Not fear towards your own insecurities about the future, but fear caused by people indifferent to your emotional struggles.
This was exactly the situation a family of five children from Nepal’s Bajura area found themselves in. The widowed mother, along with her family - consumed with grief over the tragic loss of their father - felt helpless and fearful of what lay ahead… until she brought them to Shanti Sewa Griha.
