Dear Thomas, This is the first letter I remember writing. Obviously I don’t know if I wrote any before the maze, but even if it’s not my first it’s most likely to be my last. And I remember you, the first time you came out of that box, just a scared little greenie who couldn’t even remember his own name, but from that moment you ran into the maze I knew that I would follow you anywhere. And I have, we all have. If I could do it all over again I would, and I wouldn’t change a thing. And my only hope for you Tommy is for you to look back, years from now and be able to say the same thing. The future is in your hands now Tommy. And I know you’ll find a way to do things right. Newt's demise stings a lot still; in the first book, I totally forgot he climbed a wall and attempted to commit suicide because he couldn't believe what'd happened to him. He almost succeeded but a few vines thought otherwise; by the end of the third movie, Newt did commit suicide but the reason behind it was different. He made the ultimate sacrifice by laying down his own life for his friend because he knew he would never hurt Thomas willingly, no matter what and realizing that makes his death hit even harder. For me, at least. I would've done anything and everything to try to keep him alive as long as possible as well. Seeing Newt turn is heartbreaking/soulcrushing every time and my whole heart is torn from that and forever will be.
