It's not "...her job to back up her colleague." It's their job to their job to do the right thing by their customers or face losing them.

If they don't want you recording then pull down ALL the cameras THEY have both inside and outside of the premises.

Class action lawsuit for defamation of character and assault by multiple people experiencing these tactics would soon shut this behaviour down.

This is why real checkouts should be put back. Employ staff to to the job, instead of making customers do the work and then get harassed or accused of being thiefs. Use the staffed checkouts, even if it takes longer. Boycott the self checkout, and if enough people do this, they will have to revert to manned checkouts.

When I first saw this it didn’t shock me, I had a run in with Tesco staff during Covid. I walked down an aisle the wrong way when they had that stupid one way system, I had seen a guy literally just go down the aisle the same way so I followed thinking no one would care. Out of nowhere a staff member came barging over with an attitude saying “in future can you walk down the aisle the right way!” No manners or anything, I replied with “well I hope you’re going to say that to every customer” she just glared at me because she was shocked I’d answered back. I then slammed my basket down and asked to speak to her line manager and his attitude was even worse! I didn’t go back in that shop for months afterwards, they really showed themselves up during Covid. Did this woman get sacked in the end then?
