Villiers MK25C Two Stroke Restored Engine 1950's
Nice video, can i have the engine
These old Atco mowers are a treasure, and they cut a beautiful finish and level lawn 👍 Au
Villiers "Junior", carb
Can you tell me kindly how you identify the 1948
The year is stamped on the inside of the “fabricated” cowl, later models had a pressed steel cowl with no date stamp!
Check out my ATCO Battery Power ruclips.net/user/shortsaDz6zDu72CA?feature=share
What a great example..
What kind of spark plug is it, Lodge?
Long time ago now since this one was rebuilt! Pretty sure it was a champion🤔
Would you sell?
I love the brass magneto cover, did you buff through nickel plate to reveal this finish?
A fantastic mower I have just done one on my channel
Cheers Mick👍I will look you up.
Like the finish on it....and is that a "Perfect" vice?
Looking good 👍.. I've got one of these with no carb, can you tell me the carb number/type ? Thanks
great
Very nice. I hope the 25c I'm doing up on my Clifford rotahoe works and looks as nice.
I have found the valves like to stick open if left unused any length of time. Nice resto. Have a mk25 HS that I’m currently getting parts together for. Missing exhaust and fuel tank my main issues.
Good luck on the resto👍
Is this type of engine Villiers still exist on market,if yes may I have the address and contact number.Thanks.
This engine remind me the flakmoped my father had in 1953,the fuel tank green colour
That is one of the sweetest sounding on here. Top work. Currently restoring a 1960 4 stroke.
Great video! Hopefully buying one tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it
What a cool motorbike motor that would make!
where did you bye the new exhaust,i need one for the same engine ,please let me know .
i have one of these, had it a while, all complete, no compression, made in Ballarat Victoria Australia, it's a 12/2.
Has anyone have a 12” Atco machine reference plate or a brass flywheel they wanna sell?
unka piston install aur timeing milana
mk12 ka full engine repairing video dalna plz
Great video love LDs, cheers.
Hi mate, Is there anyway I could contact you by phone? I've got two rotovators with mk15 engines that both don't work and wondered if you interested in repairing. Will pay. Thanks
Nice mower, I would like to speak to you as I have an identical mower 1249 but it doesn't have the same silencer
What oil did you use?
Wonderful bike.
Gnostic Brian Thanks
I thought I was the only one who had an Atco with a bronze flywheel. I don't believe that's standard, nice touch though!
steamgeezer Pretty sure the bronze flywheels were fitted to the early midgets with the torpedo type exhausts. The later midgets had alloy flywheels and pepper pot type exhausts. Cheers and thanks for looking.
ive got quite a few as well
hi Martin. on my ransomes mercury engine it looks like the recoil is missing. I think the engine is a c series but not sure. do u know where I could find a spare recoil? cheers ben
Thanks for subscribing,if you Google Villiers spares there is guy who runs a internet shop who stocks or can obtain parts for these old Villiers engines email him his name is George .Good luck.
love it!
hi how do you find out the year of a mk 15 i have 5 reg steve
Most of the time it's stamped on flywheel but not guaranteed!!
ok thanks reg steve
Nice job; A much underrated little workhorse. They deserve more recognition so well done for re-commissioning it. I have one on an Atco- sadly my coil was no good. £60 coil fitted; now runs sweet.
nice colection. im from new zealand and i have a few diferent ones and some villers bike engins. i do love the old motors
high comp motor.
Just bought one of these but it refuses to run without the choke being left on. As soon as you turn the choke off, the revs build up and the engine stops. Carb problem I suspect. Any ideas?
Keith
Keith Rees Fuel starvation check fuel filter at the petrol tap and inlet banjo on carb also main carb jet blocked.
Hi Martin, There is no filter at the tap and I thought that I had cleaned the filter in the banjo. I'n going to have to strip the carb again because I thought that I had clean all the components thoroughly. Let you know how I get on. Keith.
Hi Martin, You were right about the main jet being blocked. Although I stripped the carb completely and cleaned and blew the jets and passageways through, I hadn't realised that the main jet had a white/grey deposit inside and the blast of air hadn't moved it. Now cleared and the carb rebuilt, the engine will run, albeit quickly, after a warm up, without the choke. Thanks again for your help, Keith.
Thanks for the comment, the paint is craftmaster Brunswick green but there are several shades pretty sure this is the lightest one!Good luck with your Atco.
Looks great! I am restoring a 1962 16" 4 stroke Atco with a Villiers lightweight 49cc engine on it. What paint did you use?
Thanks Tom, The key ring goes onto a split pin which goes through the throttle slide. Mart.
i like the key ring throttle modification and it runs well too. Tom
2 Hp at 1000 rpm
runs nice and slow
nice engine that, not bad for a spare you had lying about!
Cheers
Lovely to hear it popping away. Thank you for posting the video. I bought one in not bad condition (not as good as yours though) in an auction yesterday and intend that it earns its keep. It looks exactly the same as yours. Do you know the model? Are there handbooks that can be downloaded online? What mix of oil and petrol do you use? Many thanks in anticipation.
BS25BaldEagle Thanks for the comment, This one is a 12inch lightweight (1947) which i run on a 20/1 fuel mix with modern two stoke oil. Never came across a online handbook but spotted one at a vintage rally once! Best of luck with your Atco Cheers.
Runs well that, it sounds nicer than most Villiers engines
ListerMan Thanks
Nice. Perhaps it could be put to work? I would like to see it powering a washing machine or tumble drier. In a tumble drier, the engines cooling air could be fed into the drum, after being passed over the exhaust. In this way, the overall efficiency of the little Viliers engine would be increased. But then again, its a stupid idea. I mean, who the fuck would want a Villiers powered tumble drier? Her indoors? No. I doubt it.
Thanks going to show this one.
Very nice engine, runs excellent :)
Very nice sound. Good job on bringing it back to a clean state of restoration. Thanks for showing it running!
Thanks as you know patience is the key.
