For every tough question the moderators asked Trump, they tossed him a layup. But he chose to take Harris' bait each time. Just go back and look at it--just before he launched into the "They're eating the dogs!" rant, they asked him a simple and easy question about immigration---his strongest issue---and all he had to do was NOT sound like a lunatic. And he started a 4 minute rant in which he sounded like a lunatic. And as far as fact checking goes, look, if you don't want to be fact checked, then don't lie about babies being executed after they are born and immigrants eating pets. It's that simple. That's not a 3v1. That's just legitimate moderation. That's how debates are supposed to work. Moderators are there to help viewers have a clear view of the issues, and to facilitate our understanding of what's the nation is facing. Allowing candidates to lie blatantly on the the network's debate stage is not remaining "unbiased" or neutral. Moderators are just that--moderators. It's their job to preside over the debate--America deserve an honest one.
