Rick, you seem to use the term "transformation" interchangeably with "organisational work". My understanding of transformation is that it is not used to describe the perpetua function of the business to produce goods or services. It's more about a point in time to change significant parts of an organisation to meet new needs that it has recognised it currently does not. Can you clear up how you define transformation?
Alex ... Appreciate your response. If you consider transformation as an event, I would agree with your distinction. I also think of transformation as an organization capability that you either have or do not. It can be learned. I find the ongoing building of the capabilities and understanding of when and how to be transformational is necessary to do it well ... like repairing the roof when it is not raining! @@groundedtowardgrowth Thanks for clarifying Rick. Certianly a lot of friction in developing an internal function in the business when there isn't a burning building to point at. But absolutely agree that this is where capability and success will come from.
