We had a wedding at Dunluce Castle in Bushmills, Northern Ireland. We spent two nights at a nearby Air B&B that we loved. It was called Mill House offered by Watersedgestays.com. We had 8 people and the house was plenty big. The views out the back were amazing. Lots of things to see nearby. We wish we could have stayed longer! St Kitts snorkel excursion

We did a cruise on the Celebrity Assent. While in St Kitts we did a snorkel tour. Not the best snorkeling but was fun. We saw 2 spotted Eagle Rays and that made the tour worthwhile just for that. Some people also saw a sea turtle.

A dive at "INVISIBLES" dive site Bonaire. Saw lots of garden eels for the first time. Saw 2 Spotted Eagle Rays, one in the shallows and one deep. Also found a giant turtle sleeping. I think we startled it. Nice school of blue Parrot fish as well. Great dive site.

DJI FPV Drone uncontroiiable flyaway!
Beautiful video of a wonderful, former co-worker, who gave me the opportunity to work with & meet his family. My heart goes out to you all at this time.
Hi folks. I am surprised this video is getting so many views compared to most of my other videos. I made it public on Thanksgiving to make it easier for some family members to access. This was a 5th grade school assignment many years ago and was my first foray into video editing. James is now a recently married airline captain. How time flies. I apoligize to anyone that the algorithm showed this to and regrets watching it.
Legendary recommended pull

Was this filmed on. A calculator or is this the late 2000s

Great Video. We visited St. Johns in July with Backroads. Great views of cruise ships entering port.
What did you like about Newfoundland and Labrador? Thank you

never seen a spotted Ray before.. Awesome Bob👍👍
Excellent, crying my eyes out.
I was Stationed at NSGA 80-81. 395 days !!! Arrived on the Rock at the Young age of 18 straight out of Radioman A Class School 🏫 Left The Rock 🪨 at 20 years old heading to an US Navy Ship 🚢. Served longer on ship than Adak. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😂😁🪨🇺🇸🤔
I was in ADAK in VP17 in Mar/Apr 1982 for a short Det. Then for a full Deployment 86/87, I was also a FE on the ferry crew that brought the VIP to ADAK for the closing ceremony 1997
Bob.... from our other RUclips Channel for our active vacations.... john hawley (OrionNav too)
Nice car! JHawley... from my other RUclips account.
Was COVID an issue on the ship?
Not obviously. Someone asked the cruise director if there was any cases and he said yes. That there will always be cases now. He wouldn’t say how many. We talked to one lady who said her husband had it and was confined to the room. I think she was supposed to wear a mask I think. She was getting food to take to the room. There were 2 evacuations. One just before leaving Curaçao and another we turned around 3 hours out of curaçao and went back to take them off. They did not say the reason for taking them off. I saw both get in the ambulance. Both went off the ship in a wheelchair. Didn’t look that old. It was a very old crowd on the ship. I think there were only like 7 kids. At 60 and 66 my wife and I felt young. We did not get the jab and wouldn’t sign up for a cruise until the Covid BS went away. There was a requirement to take a Covid test before the cruise but it was an honor thing no proof required. I think this was driven by the stop in Columbia. No one ever asked us about a test or vax or anything Covid related. We did a cruise on the same ship a week before everything shut down for Covid and this was the first cruise since then. For the most part everything was Like Covid never happened. A few folks still wore masks but very few. Many people in the sunset of life and looking to enjoy what they have left to the max without fear. Refreshing to see.
Looks like a great cruise. Are you still flying?
No. Had to retire from American Airlines after 35 years last year when the calendar rolled past the 65 mark for me.
@@bobhogg9557 Congrats on retirement from AA... what a career. Highlights? Did you stay in the USNR? Alexis and I moved to DC and pursued civilian careers... she in PA and me in the IC. I retired from USNR in 1998.
No didn’t stay in reserves. Tried for less the. A year but wasn’t working for me My wife got 26 years in reserves though. Finally collects retirement starting in July. Do I know you? Chuck maybe?
@@bobhogg9557 Yes, of course. what is the worst job on the P-3 Orion? OrionNav or Orion Navigator. Remember Crew 10? NFO - changed my designator to Intel and PCS'd to NCR. Ok - enough clues. Who am I?

Hey Boss, great video. Brings back memories. VP-50 Crew 1 SS1 Operator 78-81
Hi Joe! I remember you. Was hoping some old squadron mates would find the video. Hope all is well. I retired from American Airlines last year and live near Ft Lauderdale, FL . Retirement has been good so far.

Timeless design! Doesn't look old fashioned or anything.
where in florida?
Was in Hollywood but sold it so now in Jupiter.
Turns out DJI is replacing my drone under warranty. DJI support has been very good. Initially they said that since they couldn’t retrieve the flight data from the drone they couldn’t determine what caused the problem and couldn’t cover the loss. Then I got an email with specific directions on how to get the flight logs from the goggles and send it to DJI for analysis. As soon as they received that information they informed me that the loss would be covered after all. Good to know this kind of fly away is not considered normal or caused by operator error.
I’ve heard that on other DJI drones( non fpv) it was better to deactivate some of the sensor when flying above water as they could get confused and cause the drone to crash. I’m wondering if something similar happened here coupled with the floaters maybe obstructing the bottom sensors on the fpv drone
I got some good feedback from people that watched this on the DJI forum. It was suggested that the runaway was caused by a yaw error. Goggling yaw error brought up some interesting insights and descriptions of the problems it generates. It sounds exactly like what happened. It is apparently caused by metal objects as small as rebar in concrete nearby or big screws in the launch area interfering with the compass calibration. It is hard to believe that something that simple could cause a drone to go out of control but so far that is the best explanation that has been suggested.
Anything that obstructs the sensors will make the drone act differently
Born in 1957? Me too. PSU , 5th Floor, Sproul Hall. THANK YOU!
I was 5th floor Sproul as well Freshman and sophomore year. 1975 - 1977. Roommates with Scott DeNoma and then Lou Murray. Sound familiar? Anyway, thanks for watching. Bob
Been there, done that... but waaay way back in the 1970s when Lake Powell was at its peak. Great times!
Bob. Thank you, how profeessional ~ catch you later,📹
Well done.
Very nice! What software do you use to make your video productions?
I had orders to 50 from the RAG, but then the midair happened. That very sad event put an end to VP-50.
That was a sad event. Happened 3 or 4 years after I left the squadron and was working for an airline when it happened. Didn’t know anyone in that accident. The Pago Pago accident happened almost a year before I got to VP 50. Two sad and avoidable tragedies in their history.
@@bobhogg9557 Yes. I’ll never forget that memorial service on the parade ground on NAS Moffett. The missing man flyover made it tough to remain stiff chinned. I knew several crew members, many were students from the rag on fam flights etc…My orders were canceled and changed to VP-1 at BP due to the decom of 50. Take care brother.

Fond memories of Adak (NOT). Crew TEN spent way too much time there on Ready Alert!
Thanks for the trip down memory road!
I’m glad I was in an east coast VP Squadron. We went to places like Sicily, Spain and Bermuda. I just read there is a proposal to reopen ADAK NAS.
It’s unbelievable they just walked away and abandoned it. They should have moth balled at least some of it. Dumb and very wasteful.
@@driverjoelonghauler2881 that was part of Clinton's base realignment program when the democrats declared the cold war was over. Well surprise, It's not !
Yes they are in planning stages to bring back the marines, navy and seabees. They Should have never never closed it !
There is still a proposal to reopen the base. Never should have closed it ! The marines are using it for training for the weather elements for combat.
Great video. Served with VP-50 from 8/85 to 8/88. Good memories and a great tour for me.
Nicely done!
Was Station SAR Crew-Chief on Ch-46 #413 1973-74 A place of wonder, indeed
I was in the crash crew 77-78. How long was your tour on Adak. We did a few crash drills on the ch46 Sars recovery. We left behind a 300 pound crew man on the helicopter but everyone else got out safely. I feel guilty now😂
@@psbergeron03 March 1973 to April 1974. Was on the Mt. Sitkin “rescue/recovery” flight for crashed c-118 in December of 1973. Co-owned the big ugly chevy step-van used by the OMD crew !
