Nov 2024 sitting in boring Midwest single and full of dread for future, but this gives me hope
Cannot wait to hit this trail in July.
Nice vid. How did you get PFloyd to do the soundtrack?
Finally a CT doc where the person is not complaining the entire time! Well done, this video is so high-effort. I know exactly what it takes to get those types of shots and that type of footage. So much back and forth lol. Thanks for putting in the work, I really appreciate essentially being able to preview the trail the way I would perceive it.
Yeah, and no gear list!
It was such a fun hike and filming was just as enjoyable. Thank you for the kind words!
Ahhh, this brings back so many great memories. Wanna go back...
Cool trail. Very peaceful video. Well done. New follower here. Crow✌️
Awesome, thank you!
Congratulations on your hike, and the accumulated memories of a grand adventure! Thank you for taking the time to record and create this video (especially because you basically hiked the trail twice ; ). When you Sobe were getting ready to wash your feet at the stream, I was glad that you Em had already drawn water ; ) Beautiful cinematography (exceptional compositions of your hiking movement through the landscapes. How did you choreograph the cloud shadows! ; ), and flowing editing. Very inspiring physically and aesthetically. Thank you!
Bob, thank you so much for the kind words! It was a grand adventure that was really fun to film. Happy trails!
Thanks for a beautiful story. You worked hard to get such a lovely overview and walking shots, guessing you used a drone ... or you have magical flying superpowers. Thank you again.
Thank you! We just had a camera and a tripod, no drone. There was a lot of hiking ahead and hiking back to get it. Totally worth it!
This. Is. So. Cool.
Thanks Jim!
Beautiful
Perseverance, team work, and love of outdoors. Great film!
Beautiful! Can't wait to go in a few months.
Loved your video. Can you tell me which hiking shoes each of you were wearing? I believe the womens were Altra. Did your feet hurt?
Hi Kathryn! Glad you enjoyed the video. Em was wearing Altra lone peaks and I was wearing Altra Olympus. My feet get sensitive on longer hikes so the thicker sole of the Olympus did me right. Happy trails!
wowza, this is beautiful
Thanks for sharing your beautiful journey.👍👍👍
Nice job of letting the trail do the talking
Thanks drew!
Hands down best video of the CT. I love that you let the trail speak for itself. Wonderful.
Thank you so much! It’s was so much fun hiking and filming!
Super inspiring and beautifully captured! Can't wait to see what other adventures you go on👌🏽
Thank you!
That was beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Thank you for sharing. So glad you got back out there after the glitch!
Fantastic job! This was a pleasure to watch.
Congratulations on your completion from a CTF trail crew volunteer! Saw some familiar scenery, some new scenery and a few trail sections I've worked on in past years. I know exactly where the dummy in the cop car is 😜 too!! Thanks for all the great views! Really liked the way you let the scenery and the experience do the "talking." You guys make a great hiking pair.
Thanks John!
Y’all did a wonderful job filming to capture the extremely beautiful scenery of the CT! When the video was over I immediately clicked replay to watch it again! I'm trilled for y'all that you were able to finish. I so hope to at least hike sections this Summer. Thanks for sharing!
This was so nicely done! Really took me back to the trail. Hope you’re headed out somewhere great this summer!
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it. We’ll hopefully be hitting the Long Trail this Summer/Fall. Happy trails!
Good Stuff! thank you for sharing..
Well done video. Nicely photographed. You guys were moving pretty good to do it in 28 days.
Thank you!
This is a wonderful video. Thanks for sharing this!
So the steep section is all after the lake to Hyalite peak? When does the snow typically clear?
Yes it is. Unfortunately the day we went up a lightning storm began after the last clip so we had to run down the mountain and wasn’t able to summit. As far as the snow clearing, I’d say by the end of July.
The snow can fall anytime of the year in the high regions
I did this over 25 years ago in early August and there was still snow on the slope covering the trail to the peak. I didn't bring any crampons or steep snow climbing gear, just boots and my hands
It also snowed about 100 feet above the base of the lake overnight
Awesome video!
Well made video!
Great video!
Thank you!
