I picked this bike up a few months ago from my neighbor and it's just been sitting. In this video, i will get it running better and and investigate what is going on with the headlight.
Husky spoke breakage!?
Просмотров 4816 месяцев назад
Out of all the bikes i have owned, i have never had issues with my wheels. But, this 2019 Husky TE 150 just loves to break spoke nipples. Turns out, all KTM's and Husky's do this. New's to me, i ride Japanese bikes. I should add that i have never had to adjust these spokes. They were always tight. Hmm... what do i do to fix it?!

Honda XR 250 DC Lighting Conversion
Просмотров 2,1 тыс.10 месяцев назад
In this video, I explain how i converted my 1995 Honda XR 250's lighting system from AC to DC using a Baja Designs regulator/rectifier, Trail Tech battery and Baja Designs Squadron Sport LED headlight. You will, for sure, be able to see more than just your front fender by doing this conversion!

Any update? Link to kit ?
No update video yet but i have ridden it around a bit and it runs good. Going to swap to a nicer carb which will make it night and day. But i am overall impressed with the kit i used. I did add the link to the description in the video. Thanks!
Great looking bike! 😎👍 1993 Kawasaki KX 125 should have much more aggressive motor than 1991, 1992 and 1994 models. I have 1992 Kawasaki KX 125 and 1992 Suzuki RM 125. These early 90’s bikes looks great and reminds me from the Era when I was young... May I ask you what number code you have on the cylinder barrel? I think even I have the 1992 model I have some 1993 parts like cylinder barrel. Kawasaki soldit as 1992 model but already used some 1993 parts in it. 1993 model has larger reed valve with much better intake flow for high rpm use.
I have numbers 1687 on the cylinder.
Thanks! when i get a chance this week i will take a look at what numbers are on it. The 93 was known to be fast but would grenade all the time, due to that cylinder and ignition timing. You had to run race fuel if you were to keep it on the pipe which is how you ride a 125!
@@MotoResurrection Thank you in advance! I use 98 octane fuel (RON) and with Amsoil octane booster it´s around 102 RON.
@@jannep6772 The cylinder i removed from the engine is #1687 which is the same as the cylinder i replaced it with.
@@MotoResurrection Thanks for checking out this number. Then I have 1993 cylinder in my KX too.
you had me cracking up! 'man it looks like someone dragged it through a field or something' I LOST IT XD
🤣
busy bee, you are =p man there is so much more room in there without all those bikes XD unfortunate how that works, huh? lol <3
Yeah. It's like playing Tetris to put things away, lol.
Question is why aren’t you?
I will be soon! I have a few other videos in the works and after that, the XR will get some attention.
Just bought a 1984 kz550 it’s my first bike and needs work but I’m excited
Great video! Are you wanting to sell it?
Thank You! Nope, not selling this one. Gonna keep it in the collection. Thanks for watching!
yes, didn"t even watch the video lol!
Haha, of course it finished! The XR600 didn't but the ol' trusty 250 made it. It needs a full rebuild but it made it!
Just showed up in my feed. I have an ‘82 XL 100 my dad bought for me in 1991 off the original owner. I was 10 at the time, so mine doesn’t look that nice but she still goes down the road. You can’t kill those unless you run them out of oil. The old girl is chilling in the building waiting for a carb clean and oil change for the next adventure. Nice find.
That's awesome you still have it. There's just something about these old Hondas. Ultra reliable and they look cool!
These old war horses are brilliant ive owned the xr250 good all rounder bikes and if well maintained and not abused they go forever
Nice explanation Holmes.
Thanks bud!
had a 82 xl185 honda was a good bike first kick almost ever time
GREAT BIKES
My dream motorcycle when I was a kid.
That thing looks sweet, I can't wait to get mine running, I plan on doing something like this in the future
Very cool. Keep the 2 strokes alive!
Man I wish I could do this to my 83 xr500r .. I suck when it comes to doing electrical
It's possible that it would be a very similar process. Funny thing is, i have a 1979 XR 500 in the shop. If i get time, i may take a look at it and see how tricky it would be to do.
Honestly i ring the spoke with a wrench and slightly tighten to the same ish ring tone .... Dont over tighten yet check em 1-2 times a year. Unless youre a serious rider/abuser up the inspections/service
factory spokes are very weak, they're very skinny for light weight, same with their nipples, welcome to owning a ktm, check your spokes EVERY ride, ESPECIALLY at the rim lock, its easy to overtighten and stretch the standard spokes. Then shit gets inside the nipple because they dont grease them from the factory and there is a rather large gap at the threads that allows trash to get in there, makes it very tough to get accurate torque on the spokes. You say its odd, and for a japanese bike it is, its really not with a KTM group bike. Pretty standard stuff. Stay on it with them. Or replace them as your already doing. If you stay on it with the stock wheels the stock setup is sufficient, but you have to be on top of things. What happened to your current spokes was they got over tightened due to junk in the threads in the nipples thats what causes them to snap off like that. Just about every single time.
Thanks for the input. Over tight spokes does make the most sense as cause for the failure. I guess it's true what they say, Husky/KTM's do require constant maintanance, lol.
Overtightened.
You know, i considered that but i dont think so. Unless they were over torqued from the factory? The first one broke right after i bought it, before i ever touched them. The second in bitter cold weather. Idk Thanks for the comment.
2019 ktm exc 500 - 7,300 miles in shitty UK weather including salty roads, loads of mud and water, no issues like this - which reminds me, i have not touched my spokes in several thousand miles so you just reminded me
Thanks for the comment. At least yours are holding up. Probably a good idea to check. Glad i could help, lol.
What’s the battery? Did you built it? Nice job!
It's a 12 volt Lithium battery pack used for dual sport conversions. Trail Tech makes one and i think Tusk offers one as well.
Where did you get your plastics from
All the plastic is from UFO Plastics.
Beauty!!! 👍
How about all the stories where we pushed it around for the show and shine a.k.a. barn fine class before you put it together
Haha, that's true! We did do that! More than once...never again, lol.
The bike is fucking rad. I might pick me up a 125 eventually. Might be of the kx variety.
@@someoneyouknow96 Thanks! 125's are awesome! Hope you find one. Stay tuned. In the future i will be doing a build series on another 125!
@@MotoResurrection im not sure about a 125. I have a kx250 and id like another one or a 125. Im used to the power of 250T and 450s so not sure id be happy with a 125. But its crossed my mind.
that bike rips!
We got her pretty dialed! Can't wait to fix it and rip it some more!
Definitely 6 hour race
Can you buy a 96 and show me
i need to get lighting hooked up to my 2000 xr 250, hope you explain the process. looking forward to it.
I should have a video up in the next couple days or so. It will be specific to the DC conversion. Mine is a 1995 but should apply to the 1996 and newer bikes.
Keep the build videos going
They are in the works!
