What a wonderful advocate for people with trisomy 13 or 18. You can't know how much a child may accomplish when given appropriate medical care. Medical students and parents absolutely deserve to see the possibilities of life with such a condition, both worst case and best case.

My father planned and carried out his own suicide quietly and in silence. I found out eight days later. According to my sister, who saw my father more frequently than I did, he was being blackmailed by his wife and her daughter and felt he had no other way out. He was a very independent person and would not have permitted himself to succumb to the whims and ways of others. He remained an independent, self-directed person to the end. I can only respect his strength and courage. Since he had not been a regular participant in my life, I felt no real grief, just confusion and a sense of absence that has been present throughout my entire life.

I can honestly say that I've been trying to get care for anxiety and depression for 40 years. I saw 3 psychiatrist in that time frame. Nobody has ever really helped me, only pills and go try it. So the help I've asked for is not readily available. It's been a very bad experience, do maid is becoming more interesting to me. I do hope that people find peace and live a beautiful life 😊

Bravo to Brandon! I had a daughter with trisomy 18 who unfortunately only lived a few hours. I heard that horrible phrase incompatible to life too many times. Thank you for giving a positive voice to trisomy 18.

Finally someone who is terminally ill can stop suffering. There is no hope for a cure. Why linger in pain for months, weeks?? Family that don’t agree are selfish.

I have had two loved ones die with the aid of MAID and two loved ones die from suicide--how many loved ones have you lost by either manner, dickhead? When my terminally-ill father chose MAID, he was able to die at home, surrounded by loved ones. He set up a shrine of things that were meaningful to him, and played a particularly beautiful piece of music. He didn't want to die, but he was at peace, and he was grateful (as were we, who adored him) that he was able to die somewhat on his own terms, with his dignity intact, not in a palliative care home surrounded by strangers. Both of my loved ones who died from suicide were ill and terrified and sick and sad, and my grandad died in a manner particularly horrific to me, alone, and undoubtedly afraid that what he was doing wouldn't work, that perhaps he'd end up brain dead. I'm SO FUCKING sick of these assholes who are relying on "scientific polls" or "data," who have never experienced losing a loved one either way, believing they know how the patients and their families feel. This is one of the most offensive, WRONG videos out there. It's disgusting, and so are you.
