Mind-blowing to see Brutus at 24 or 25 years old with all that blonde hair. He didn't know what he was doing he was not confident in his sleeping skills at that point. But this is how a lot of the Stars started out on the lower levels gaining experience.

If Handsome Jimmy and Ric Flair ever worked the same territory, that would have been a problem. Wooo!

Free agency was a new thing at the time in Baseball and there was a contract dispute with someone that was big news at this time (Nolan Ryan or Pete Rose, I think) and this was Jarrett was riffing on that.

Making Lawler jerk the curtain...classic. How times have changed...in 1980 people sided with management...by 1996 it was Austin as the common man taking on management and the people sided with Austin

The one guy who could have sold all this customary Memphis lunacy perfectly? Even better than Lance Russell? The late great Gordon Solie. He could keep a stone straight face (pun intended) in the presence of Roddy Piper, a guy who Feuded and later Teamed with Lonnie "Moondog" Mayne out on The West Coast. Their Vendetta was only renowned for swallowing live goldfish and sugared bottle glass before Roddy headed to The Southeast and comparatively slipped it into a low gear. This summit in Memphis would be Superhero Cake for Gordon Solie. Also anyone notice how Adam West sounded like a sleepy John Wayne throughout his Career?🤔😉🎤🐡🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🦇🕴🤴🎼🎸🤼‍♂️B.W.

One of the main reasons Lawler did not become World Champion is he made just a much money in the Memphis territory as a World Champion

I worked with Jimmy for about a year. Various wrestlers would come into our WTTV Channel 4 studios every week for promo interviews. He was a great talent, true showman, and definitely mastered the art of entertaining the crowd. I loved him calling me "daddy".

Ol' Jerry "The King" Lawler sure could pop a mean interview, couldn't he? The Man had a mean streak a mile wide, when he was upset. He flip-flopped so much between face and heel, it reminded ya of a stack of Pancakes! Jerry "The King" Lawler, and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair were both the same way. They could really pull on your heart-strings, when they wanted you to support 'em, but when they turned heel, they'd stomp all over those heart-strings! They played us, time and again!
