One bit of advice I can offer is to stop worrying about all the 'rules'. I have several pairs of jeans and my favourites are a pair of PBJs that stretched a bit too much, so I put them in a hot wash, in the dryer etc. I haven't given a damn about them, really knocked them about and now they are my favourites!

I'm not gonna lie I turn them inside out before soaked my pure blue Japan's in cold tap water and hung them to dry in my bathroom with a light and fan blowing on them then worn them that morning when they were dry

Seems like he did the Tokyo Turnup too high and covered the hem. I thought the idea of that style was to show both the selvedge ID as well as the chainstitched hem.
