These checkpoints aren't the solution to the DUI problem. They aren't even as effective as traditional patrolling methods. They're there to make money. In my county, they hold these "sobriety" checkpoints and they will only get 3 or 4 DUIs, yet impound 24 cars and write dozens of tickets. Traditional techniques are and were always more effective than these unamerican checkpoints.

Never once have i heard a police officer in oxnard ask me "Ihre Papiere, bitte!" lol. Yes traffic is a problem but if you are in a hurry at 11:30 at night my guess is you are not late for band practice. So leave sooner to you're point of destination. Just sayin:)

n the state of California it is unlawful to drive with out a valid DL. If you do not have one chances are you do not have registration or insurance . And to compere the oxnard police to a unit like the Schutzstaffel is just not right. Gettting Drunk Drivers off the road I have no problem with but did u see how much traffic this causes? Why dont they start the roadblock at 12AM or later when there are people driving drunk If they are trying to get drunk drivers off the road why are they checking for drivers liscences? Checkpoints operate under a presumption that everyone is guilty and have to be proven innocent. Thats not justice. Know your history-Nazi Germany had checkpoints too- ever heard the term "papers please"?

The people who cars are being towed are unlicensed drivers. Driving is a privilege, and the State of California does not extend this privilege to illegal aliens.

oh i didnt know if u are drounk and i have a lincese u could go to pick up your car the next day but if u just dont have a license u have to wait 30 day and pay like 1400 just to get your car back.... that is unfair
