    Hello! I got the Road2 pedals and would love to see you demonstrate how to get into the magnet when sitting on the bike. You mentioned that was the tricky part, and I have ridden with them twice now and still haven't mastered that. Of course, the first foot is easy because you're not rolling, but the foot you release to step onto the ground at stops is not so simple to get back onto the magnet when you're moving due to the way the magnet hangs. Even so, in my opinion they are better than clipless because I can easily get out of them and they definitely stay solidly connected when riding.

The left hand lane is for turning left (first two exits) and the right lane is for going straight over (third exit) and for turning right (fourth exit) as indicated by the signs on the approach and the markings on the road. If the cyclist had been in the left lane and tried to go past that second exit then they'd have certainly been knocked off by the driver behind them thinking they would be taking that second exit with them and trying to squeeze past them, only for the cyclist to then continue round the roundabout right in front of them.

    • @riding4lives
      @riding4lives 10 месяцев назад

      Hi Michael, you are still getting good miles well done . Getting them miles was a lot of leg work so some of them miles I would have been in zero PA . As I got the bike moving nicely and put it on when needed .so the 70+ was from fully charge to flat . At the beginning riding my first oxygen it was about letting the hub do the work or keep it topped up with speed . Now it's more get the bike moving and lower or turn off PA hence getting them big miles . Hope this helped

    • @michaelcorbett9269

    • @riding4lives
      @riding4lives 10 месяцев назад

      @michaelcorbett9269 Hi yes your correct, as I generally ride in PAS 3 and its very easy to peddle faster once the bike moving .I used to keep it in PAS all the time but I found by letting the power bars drop down as you are over thier max speed seting it was just as easy to knock it down to zero. Whereby if the speed was dropping I turn it back up .now it might be me but I also found when set to zero the bike was easier to keep the speed going. But 70 miles was over a good few days from charged to flat .so it's probably 50 / 50 with legs and hub all working together. 💪

    Over the last three years or so we bought 3 of these, 2 CB and 1 ST models. 1 CB and the ST both had a fault whereby the motor kept cutting out. Both the retailer and Oxygen couldn’t identify the fault on the ST which I returned for inspection and testing. My wife and I are now stuck with two faulty bikes🤨

      Hi i am sorry to hear this news . Did you go directly to oxygen. Please contact them with the serial number on the bikes . I have contacted them also. I have the cb and st and the go fouldup. Not had any big iussed with any of them . I did have a hub once I done over 2 thousand miles, you could hear it . Had it serviced by @ebikerepaires and had no other iusse since then. So was it cutting out when riding . Was it under any hill climbing or flat road ? When riding did the hub cut out once maximum speed limit was reached. I am sure whatever the problem is it can be resolved. It could be the ldc panel not talking to the controller, or the controller to the hub . Even down to the peddle sensor. I has a sensor problem on the Cb but this was down to mud and dirt. Hence now bikes get cleaned every other day or once a week I do a service on them. Then I can hear any odd sounds. One of the annoying things about cycle commuting is how motorists close the gap between their vehicle and the kerb, nicely demonstrated at 12:35 onward. It's almost as if they don't want to be passed by cyclists. Granted the road at 12:35 isn't the widest, but still no need to hog the kerb in the way that they do. Imagine riding that stretch of road at 2:25 onward at night in the winter, especially on narrow road bike tyres. I have a major road on my commute that is just as shitty as the stretch of road in this video and it is an absolute nightmare at this time of year. You can't see the road surface because of the poor street lighting and have to move out into the centre of the lane where the road surface is much better.

For me being seen on the roads is always top of my check list along with lights . I have now started to have *GoPro* mounted for all my rides only due to nearly being knocked off twice in one ride to work . Car pulled out of driveway right into my parth lucky have fine tuned breaks as I would have been in the back seat of his vehicle. Other was car overtaking me and cut me up missed me by inches. Riding should be fun not a white knuckle ride. Thank you so much for commenting .

      Hi Gary many thanks for your reply. I post a quick reply here but feel free to message me from FB search riding 4 lives . Myself would go for the St Cross MTB as the roads my way are dreadful with potholes. It really dose depend on how much you will be riding . The s cross cb is an epic road horse and this is what I first started on . The rack on the back was so handy . It has good quality road rims and sticks to the road well . Now if this helps . With in a few weeks of getting my first bike I wished I went for the MTB as I wanted to be out off road . Hence me saying the MTB . I will be doing a video soon with showing views how to add a rear rack and turning it into to another work horse . Hope this helps

    Nice explanation of your ride. Don't think there is any requirement to leave you space for you to pass on the left unless there is a marked cycle path. The 1.5m you are referring to is from the highway code section 163: As a guide: leave at least 1.5 metres when overtaking cyclists at speeds of up to 30mph, and give them more space when overtaking at higher speeds Great way to show how much better and faster a commute at a busy time is on an e-bike vs in a car.

    Hi are you able to attach a throttle to this model?

    • @riding4lives
      @riding4lives 11 месяцев назад

      Hi, sorry for the long reply..sadly, on this model, it can't be added .You will need to have the controller changed which also means you will need to replace the peddle sensor and display unit, too . My thoughts: How much do you need the throttle? As they have their Pros and Cons. Replacing all the parts is not a big deal. But having the knowledge to change all the parts yourself helps as it could be mind-blowing or on the other hand, expensive to have it done by a shop. == Oxygen warranty== By changing this, the bike now becomes derestricted and above the UK ROAD league speed *Not off road or on private land use only. This then means the oxygen warranty become invalid due to modifications by owner . The maximum speed is then around 18MPH, with throttle which is still under the 25mph and not classed as a moped, etc . The battery life will certainly lower them miles due to more voltage being used by the derestricted controller and parts. Throttle use on steep or big hills is not recommended as you will overheat the hub and it will cut out due to not being able to maintain full speed. ==== Warning ==== If stopped on the main road, you could have the bike taken off you by the police .I haven't heard of anyone at this speed being stopped, but I do know of someone that was doing over 30mph and lost his Ebike. Let look at some good facts Perfect for them Stop and go starts. Certainly helps getting speed up faster so you can then use legs to take over. Also for Medical assistant's. It might also be worth contacting the oxygen dealer where you got your wonderful bike before doing this... if you go down that route to see if they can assist. I thought I cover this in depth as I have been asked countless times about throttle or how to derestrict ... I hope this has been helpful

    Buy Magpeds only if you're suicidal. I purchased the gravel Magped and the screw holding the magnetic keeps backing off despite using Locktite and scoring the threads. You'll be peddling along when your foot suddenly slides off the peddle with the magnetic attached. They apparently are aware of the problem because they include a spare screw assembly with the peddle. Magped has not responded to my safety notice to them. Unsafe at any speed.

      Hi buddy I have not had any issues with them , have you spoken to Paul from maged . Or email me and I contact them for you. Email can be found on my website. I am sure they will get this covered for you

      @@riding4lives I really wanted these to work. The Magped Gravel has many issues: Setting the gap requires requires removing the shoe, using two wrenches to guess the adjustment and repeat until set. Why not thread the magnet or use a captive locking nut and adjust using one screw? For the price why not include a gauge - I made one out of plastic. One sided, unbalanced peddle - fifty/fifty chance of the peddle landing with the right side up with the magnet on top. Had to look at the peddles too many times to know. Just dangerous. No guides to insure that the shoe is locked in - The magnet tugs the shoe in when it's near the magnet, then you need to "squiggle" the shoe forward/backward and left/right and listen for a click. Should have a shoe guide to slip into place. I could live with all of that, but not the screw backing out and the magnet separating from the peddle. Peddles falling apart are a major safety defect at any speed. Lastly, the only spare part that's included is the magnet attachment screw and threaded barrel. Why would it be included if it wasn't a problem? I replaced them with double sided SPD peddles and so much happier. Easy in, easy out, no fuss no muss, a third of the price and most of all - safe.
