Of all the people I've ever met in the ski industry, Mike Hattrup is definitely one of them. Kidding. A former U.S. Team mogul skier, Hattrup made a name for himself in Greg Stump's movies and went on to become a ski company executive at K2. Today he runs the backcountry division for K2. And, as you'll see on our film, he's one of the best guys in the ski world. -Bill Kerig

A documentary feature film set in the world of big mountain skiing, The Edge of Never is a real life coming of age saga about the tribe of skiers who challenge the biggest, most dangerous mountains in the world. In 1996 extreme-skiing legend Trevor Petersen was killed in Chamonix, France. Nine years later, skiing icon Glen Plake decides it's time for Trevor's 15-year-old son, Kye, to ski the ro...

Great early example of branding and marketing, couldn’t of happened (although HE MADE IT HAPPEN) to a better guy, seems so decent and down to earth. I always loved his swagger upon dropping in; that subtle laugh, shrug of the shoulders, and getting deep…As a kid he was quite inspiring. I bought many K2 skis because of his recommendation and absolutely loved every time he was made mention. Thank you for all the inspiration, Mr. Plake, fan for life…

Maybe this can be a clip called, "Plake on TIme" becuase these principles do live in me as well as a sort of "hot dog" pioneer of Militia games(sports). Do what you want to do and make regular time for that. The police think its a game more than I do and I tell you that right now. I keep quient, mind my own, I seldom logo up.... I saw a new paint job on a bitch St. Johns County SUV about 3 months ago and it logo'ed up to the point of saying something like, 'it's not a game', huh. I saw Plake in Winter Park and just remembering him and the good example that he made for me.

I can remember as a little kid being in Bothell ski and bike (in the old shop) and seeing "the mohawk guy" poster of plake. I feel like it had corn in it for some reason, like it was shot in a corn field or something. long story short my dad loved skiing but we never had the money for it growing up, I never went to a ski resort until I was 20! I started patrolling at Bear mountain on a snowboard at 21 and switched to skis half way through the season. I made the switch for two reasons, 1, skis made work easier and 2, I wanted to ski bumps like my dad and eventually like glen plake. Thanks to both Dad and Glen, you've given me something I will pass onto my kids.

My aunt, who I thought was the coolest mogul skier alive, said something about “that Mohawk guy” being awesome when I was a 12-yo hopeless skiing romantic. And that shit stuck. Glen inspired everything I love about skiing. From the travel, to hitting small hill parks with hot locals, to bringing up my kid in the sport on a Ramen budget (she was skiing sled hills at 3). Thanks glen.

Great man with a great heart. Watch and listen.. He knows a thing or two about the edge and standing the test of time and what matters. I admire the men the three amigos from Blizzard of Aahhhh's have become. Mike, Plake, and Scot started Extreme Sports.. But they have done something far more impressive. They have become good human beings and focus on what really matters with regards to life. I always hear them give credit to their friends and family and fans. I still to this day cannot really think of better ambassadors for the wonderful sport of skiing.

theatlantean3 couldnt agree more.i grew up watching both these guys on those classic skiporn films maltese flamingo and bizzard of aaahhs. i think schmidt had the most beautiful technique i have ever seen,he seemed to float over the snow. from being about 11 years old itried so hard to copy that technique, obviously not coming close to it. every black bump run or cliff i jumped off had the soundtrack from one of those films going on inside my head, lol. i mean sure nowadays guys are doin backflips and shit but if you ask me its these guys, plake, schmidt etc who were the REAL pioneers and gods of free skiing.

I felt the same way which is funny because living on the east coast I spend most of my time bumping, but Scott just had that certain something, I have a lot of respect for them both and I think Glen Plake has taken his skiing to the next level, true big Mt. and he is living what most of us only dream of, take care,

Plake is right! he way I see it there is "Filmmakers" and "Skifilmmakers" Any good Filmmaker could make a good skifilm but today the industry is governed by "Skifilmmakers" with little or no touch. Andrew Kidman could probably make a kickass skifilm. And I bet Herzog could do it to if he wanted to, because they are good at making just that; Films. Telling the story is what it's all about, if you are a filmmaker!
