Hi! Great question. From our experience, patience is key. We've placed over 10 birdhouses in the last 10 months, and so far, only one is fully occupied. Blue tits can be very picky and may take their time choosing the perfect home, especially as nesting season approaches (March to July). Darkness could play a role, but it's more likely they're just exploring their options. Keep an eye out; you might have new tenants soon! 😊

@Bird_Hotel Thank you very much for your kind reply! Surprisingly, I've just seen on my camera that the blue tit has gone all the way in for the first time! I'm so happy about it, even though I know of course that this doesn't mean that the blue tit will make its nest there later. :)

@kvitko9170 thanks for your support, it means a lot for us, feels like it worth to do. In the last week Pluto behaved strangely and in the last 2 days he did not return to the Birdhouse, so we afraid he is gone. 😢 There are lots of titmouses nearby so hopefully somebody will take the home. We think Mars is a female great tit so hopefully they will raise chicks over the nesting period.
