So this is a documentary my friends and I made for a program called National History Day (www.nhd.org) on Tenzing Norgay in '09. The theme was "Individuals in History." The program is a ton of fun for anybody who's thinking about starting a project. I hope you enjoy the video.

Went to the local museum where they had an exhibition with some of their stuff that they took up there, was the darndest thing being so close to their dairies and reading their handwriting. Well done on the presentation, thank you for your efforts :) Great job

@@McMagpie Thanks , as a kid living in India we met Tenzing, I don't have a memory but photos, must of been 3 or 4, but remembers summers in Darjeeling in a dairy farm owned by a dutch family,other times.

The photo that was seen by the world was of Norgay Tenzing.( you left it for the last) It say's something very good of Edmund Hillary! As he always said: We where a team.

That line bothered me too, where the narrator says something to the effect that the group failed. But I guess what is meant is that they weren't able to achieve the larger goals and desires they had, to spur actual, substantial action by large enough numbers of people, to thereby stop the Nazis' relentless campaign. It is true that they did not live long enough to bring these goals to fruition, but, as is stated in this video, what they were able to do did have an impact, and they did raise awareness and inspire other people. It's been many years since I saw the movie DIE WEISSE ROSE, and I'm glad to find it on RUclips, as it's apparently virtually impossible to get copies of it here in the USA. So I shall watch it again soon, and urge friends to watch it too.
If kids made this video.. I'm so happy to know there is hope for the younger generation :-)

Cliff Yablonski They may have been naive in their approach, but that was a function of their young ages and the limited tools available to them. Their value is twofold. First, obviously, they are role models for having courage to speak, and act, in the face of oppression. He ordered Speer to destroy the farm lands and food. Speer disobeyed because he knew the people would die. So Yes the White Rlose were Heroes. Would have had that same courage.

What is the song used in the credits??? I listened to 'words win wars' all the way through and that's totally a separate song...if anyone could tell me that'd be great! Also, this documentary is fantastic. I hope you made it far and won something for it! Very well done!

Tenzin was an ethnic Tibetan. Both his parent were Tibetan. He was born in Tibet and raised in Nepal until age of 19 and since then moved to India.

The entire population of our school is not gay! Even if they were you can keep your rude and offensive comments to yourselves. This video was not posted for you! You don't have to watch it if you don't like it!
First, all the gay comments are uncalled for. You don't know any of these people! If you don't have something nice to say don't say it. To all of you who found this through NS... The person who posted this video doesn't go to our school. Our MUSICAL cast made this as a tribute to the original Broadway cast who did a lip sync of this song! We do not have a makeup class! And there are also a lot of Lewisburg High Schools and the corn pagent video is not from our school.
Keep in mind that these are real people. I think it's cool what these kids did, but if you don't like the video that's fine; you don't have to comment. Just keep it to yourself. God bless.
