Hip NYC Hotel Review: ARLO SoHo 2021

i was wondering were the ceilings popcorn ceilings (bumpy) or just completely flat?
Biggest complaint - the toilet has HUGE gaps in the glass door and there is NO privacy, whether visual or as far as sound. Hotel HUGO nearby is a better choice.
Nice
Amazing video! Thank you so much!
Great Video! Would love to see other reviews :)
Can you do one for people that are getting offered jobs but the plan is that they want to move back to the office? I'm reluctant to accept an off I received because of that. I really do not want to go back ever and plan on actively going in that direction.
Well presented review! I am an artist and I like to share my painting demos and studio tours here. So much variety on RUclips. Have a great day!
I worked in the IT and transferred their my previous Org ecosystem to work remote by deploying all the tools for employees to work remote many years ago even before the Covid. I tired to negotiate to be fully remote with my supervisor so I can move somewhere where i really want to live. He refused, so i had to quite my job, my supervisor then couldn’t hold the job without me, so he quiet too. M team reached out trying to get me back, but the damage was done.
Thanks for your comment! A lot of companies and individuals are dealing with this right now. My experiences are only my own, but hopefully some people will be able to learn something from them. Thanks for sharing yours as well. Sometimes, quitting is the best option
Whats the price per night?
Clean ,good
Another great video. Keep them coming
Hi Steve, so glad I don't work anymore. Good info.
Love the video! Great advice.
Thanks Hugo! Thank you for watching 😊
Ha. Great work (and by the way, another comparison that my daughter and I undertook when we lived in New Paltz was all the pizza joints there). Anyway, I"m a mostly lifelong New Yorker, now situated in bagel starved-Tucson. We moved from Saugerties last year, and yes, we've been to all the bagel places you covered except Village Bagels, which I think used to be the bakery in town). Tested them all many times, and of course, it's a personal choice. For example, I was never much of a fan of Esse on the Lower East Side but preferred Lenny's My Two Sons on Broadway. Part of the choice involved which made the freshest bagels and also which tasted best after you pulled them from the toaster. For me, there was no comparison: Lox on Bagels was the best by far. Didn't think they were doughy. toasted, they were phenomenal, and getting a hot one to eat in the car was always a treat. I found the Mud Club bagels to be fine but inconsistent. the others were ok. Mostly, your video was a shot of nostalgia for our old town, and yes, you got it right about Saugerties.
So glad I could give you some hometown vibes, Jeff! Maybe you could do a similar hunt in Tucson!
Utopia Bagels is the BEST...
Where and why? What makes them worth the visit? I'm interested!
Lox is my go to, especially if you get a sausage egg and cheese on an everything bagel, and if you ever do a best fries review they should be on the list as well!
I'm feeling the love of lox in these comments. Sorry if I seemed dismissive. It is a cool place but the bagel style is too roll like for me.
I've made a detailed comment 3 times, but it keeps disappearing. What gives? :(
Hi there. Not sure. I have auto filtering on so if you use salty language the algorithm might not let it through? I haven't seen anything but this comment. Sorry.
I'm an ulster county resident and I'll go out of my way to go to Lox O Bagel's in Saugerties. They also sell them at a lot of local deli's and Hannifords(supermarket) the only bagels on this list i haven't tried is Mud Club and Village. I would put Sunrise at the bottom of the list. To me they are more like Hard rolls cosplaying as bagel's, They dont even have a hole they are so big.
Thanks for your comment! The folks at Lox were really nice and I loved all the picnic tables outside for pandemic safety reasons. I didn't love the bready texture myself, but to each their own!
The best bagel in woodstock is the bagel you make yourself or have to go to the city for, tbh. bread alone is very bland and they force their politics on you, mud club has mostly good produce but they are literally across the road from bread alone, and the pizza place (so mud can only compete adjacently?) ... who knows wtf politics are going on with that silly mud empire
I'm a fan of the Mud Club bagel. But based on comments I'm going to have to do pizza testing sometime soon. Better start dieting in preparation. Thanks for commenting Mike!
@@liveworklive5715 don't diet! Be active so you can follow your taste buds :)
We're totally on the same wavelength. I just use more napkins.
LOL deep cut! Yes, if I'm going to keep filming myself shoving food into my face I will need to invest in more and better napkins. Maybe even wet-wipes!
Finally a real world definitive review. Good work!
time to move back to NYC
No way Sam! I get there plenty but I've found peace and beauty up here in Woodstock!
Totally agree the tide is shifting, thank God!
Yes! So happy. More good news I need to talk about soon too!
Love the way you combine practical tips with little motivational nuggets!
Glad you like them!
Just since you posted this Google announced it was spending an additional $2.1 billion to buy a building on the Hudson River waterfront in Manhattan. No wonder they want their employees back in the office!
Follow the money!
Vermont looks especially appealing but it may be the Bernie factor! :)
I need to take a trip to Vermont, it looks so great!
Very constructive tips, thank you!
Looks so peaceful! What a lovely place to work!
It's a perfect little spot. So glad I found it!
Sigh. I found my dream home at a great deal, and am thinking about putting an offer in tomorrow, but I’m a remote developer and absolutely must have high speed internet. Of course cable isn’t offered at this place…and it’s surrounded by damn trees. Plus it’s on a lake, so cutting them down isn’t an option due to regulations. It’s like seriously? Am I really going to have to turn down this once in a lifetime opportunity because of friggin internet in 2021? Seriously?!
It's tough. Have you checked out wireless service? Any low or mid band 5g towers nearby? Also some folks are having success putting dishy on a big pole on the roof or flagpole on your property.
"Unfortunately these can sometimes be filled with lots of garbage positions and outdated posts." Very true. Even surprisingly LinkedIn Jobs, which you might think was vetted etc. I've even encountered a bunch of positions that explicitly stated that they were voluntary/unpaid. Those shouldn't be making it past a filter but they are. Another issue for those of not based in the US: there are a lot of positions that aren't up front about where they will accept candidates from (US-only remote, Canada-only remote, etc). This is another major nuisance. The specialist sites are the way to go. As you say, they're leading the charge.
Thanks for the further detail Daniel. As someone happy in their position I haven't had to go into search mode in a while so my exposure is limited. I appreciate your added context. TYVM
Hi Steve! We were chatting on Reddit (I think you're active in /r/remotework). Firstly everything Jonnie said. For such a hot topic (remote work) there's a deficit of actionable guidance out there. So glad to see you putting these videos up. Love the line about having more leverage than you think. I think the general "badness" of the remote work process convinces a lot of us otherwise. But I'm guessing when you find the right opp, you're in the driving seat more than you realize. Looking forward to following your channel!
Hi Daniel, yes! /r/remotework is my favorite subreddit on the topic. Not enough real content out there for something that impacts millions of people and is in constant flux. I'll do my best, but I am just one voice. Happy to know of any others if you find them!
More good interesting facts. Funny how attitudes have changed over this past year. I am ready to go remote for sure.
Keep building your channel Jonnie and you will get that location-independent revenue!
As your mount the dish slightly off the ground line of sight is going to exponentially open up. Get an A-frame ladder and put it smack in the middle of the parking lot and then try the app again. This may reveal certain height that you need to get the dish in which case you can use a pole tape mounting solution.
Thanks rob! My new plan is to take Dishy on the road.. more on that later :)
You are doing a great job Steve. You are building a great library of resourceful information.
Thanks Jonnie! It's nice to see your comments every week.
So true. I see empty buildings/businesses everywhere now. Even so many little mom and pop shops are remote thanks to the WWW. "We are Important"
Thanks for your comment Jonnie! Prices need to drop to be more realistic and then we will see some creative use of all these empty spaces.
They sound like amazing opportunities. America looks stunning
Thanks for your comment Michelle. America definitely has its fair share of natural beauty!
I also wonder if Starlink will be able to pay with bitcoin or usdt
Hi Anthony, right now it's by major CC in the US.
LOVE this, so convincing and your delivery is so entertaining! Listen up you CEOs! Look forward to the Big Lie!
Thanks for watching KVo!
My case is even more non sense than anything else. So I will return to the office, but will be the only one in my team in that office, the rest of the team is across the ocean, it has been like this for around 5 years now, so instead of having calls from home I will be having calls from the office, but now I will have the commute time where before I would have meetings... so yeah, "it is going to be a major productivity increase". Btw the only talks I hear around the "water cooler" is "how bad the weather is, or where people went for the weekend, or what company should we open together so we can get out if this shithole, or how bad the team members are", office talk are crap, hate it hate it hate it. Disclaimer: I hate people in general!
Forced office attendance can make the nicest of us dislike other people. I'm sorry this is happening to you, Rui. It might be time to think about plan B. I'll be posting a video about finding remote employment soon. Stay strong!
So many valid points. Great research and references as well. I would so so so love to be a remote worker.
The work you do is so much more important than mine. I know not every role can be done well remotely, but I am curious if there are adjacent roles you could explore in the future. My sister is a Psychiatric Nurse and I know a lot of her collogues are often working remotely. Do you know any other related roles that can be done remotely?
Northwest Arkansas is gorgeous. Good food, good fishing, all that biking.
It sure looks gorgeous, Randy. Thanks for watching!
I'd be more impressed if they were willing to pay for training for me to move there. If I like it there, I might just stay. Also, the dollar amount is low, so you'd really have to had plans to move to one of these destinations already.
Yeah I don't think it's enough to uproot someone. But if you were already looking to escape a high priced metro area this might be enough to get on the consideration list. Thanks for your comment!
Super cool video. It’s amazing what the states are doing.
Thanks Amber! I love it here in the Catskills, but it's such a big beautiful country... some of these make me want to make my move again! :)
MoBang shouted you out, so here I am....and wow! This video is great....well done, and so informative. New sub.

Omg your editing is awesome. You are such a natural. Shephardstown seriously.... beautiful little town... Kelly and I just walked the streets of Shephardstown last week.
I thought you might love that West Virginia content :) Thanks for your sweet comment. I love Woodstock, but some of these communities look awesome!
Woodstock is such a beautiful area. Great tips. You are very good on this subject. When people watch and listen to your suggestions I believe they will see how to do it.
Hi Dee, thanks for having me on your live last night and thanks for these kind comments!
