If you want to be an entrepreneur, you should work a job (longer)
When I started full-time, the only thing I wanted to do was to leave and start my business. Everyday at work felt like a hindrance towards my entrepreneurial journey. Now, 16 months in, I see my job as the real opportunity to double down on.

We do a lot of practice, but practice doesn't alway mimic the real thing. Test yourself by doing the real thing. Give yourself an opportunity to fail so that you can be honest about where you stand.
Test Yourself

We need to constantly test ourselves to know what we are really capable of. Putting ourselves in a position to fail keeps you from being complacent.

New York City is the best place to accomplish your goals. Everyone focuses on the doom and gloom but forget the abundance of opportunities here. Use that to your advantage.

How I got comfortable with failing | Lesson from Dad

In this Father's day edition, I'm sharing the biggest lesson from my dad. Dad always pushed me to just get started even when I don't have it all figured out yet. I inevitably ran into roadblocks, but that shifted my perspective on "failing". whenryhuang www.linkedin.com/in/whenryhuang

Subbed!
I'm learning english by your videos. Greetings from Brazil!
This was an unintended consequence…but I love it! Happy learning🤘
great video thank you for real.
Thank you👊
Damn, I guess I'm gonna go work first.
Nothing wrong with it!
I tried to build a business all alone. After 6 years I gave up because it was literally impossible and had family problems. Then I started working for someone else who was a millionaire. I also had coworkers who were also developers like me. I learned so much and I understood that getting a job is trying to get a taste of the blueprint for success. I kept on changing jobs for 6 other years and now I started building my own business with my employees.
Amazing journey! Keep building!
I recently saw the vidoe of simon squibb and daniel priestley, where they mention about enterpreneurship apprenticeship, atleast 2-3 years, wehre we get knowledge about network and business
Entrepreneurship apprenticeship is exactly it
Now you are practicing live speaking while walking 18 flights of stairs lol 😂😂😂 love it bro
Gotta surprise the muscle😂
great video bro 🔥
Thanks 💯
What I got out of this was the concept of not making work conversations be ONLY about KPI's. Allow people to talk about themselves and find common ground. So simple, yet people forget it.
Yes. The skill is in getting the people that don’t want to talk about themselves, to talk about themselves.
@whenryhuang hey brother do you have an IG? I would love to hit you up and get you on my podcast.

Appreciate the insight Henry!
Is that your cat?
Why put all into HISA, why not some equities or at least reits? I think not tracking bottom up at least somewhat is a little bit copium (why have two gym memberships?). anyway good video. Am also in asset management, but would love to see videos on reit specific investing.
I’m a real estate guy. I’ll keep in mind on the reit investing🤘
is the 1500 cash expense from ur happy endings?
My perspective is that you gotta be generous spending money on what makes you happy
Impressive Henry, very helpful

Lots of young people move to NYC thinking that it is like Friends, Sex in the City, Seinfeld, etc. but quickly realize it's not all that it's hyped up to be. They rush to move to NYC just because their friends are or everyone else is doing it. If you can afford to live in NYC as a young person, you probably work in an industry that is notorious for long working hours (banking, law, etc.), so it's not as if you would be able to spend that much time with your friends anyways. That, plus the always-looking-for-someone-better mentality is why dating/relationships are hard in NYC and people become jaded. A lot of people with warped values. Not saying that NYC isn't filled with opportunities, but people should first get their head out of the sand and think about what they really want to accomplish in NYC before committing 25 - 30k on a 1 year lease, while also having to pay back student loans.
NYC is not for everyone. If it is, the points in the video make sense to you. Why are long hours the evil? Is it not evil to not be able to support your relationships, the ones that you have so much time for?
@@whenryhuang there is nothing inherently wrong with long hours. But there is something wrong with you if you are putting in long hours for something you don't value, because everyone else is doing it, or if it is impacting relationships you value. A lot of relationships in NYC fail because 1 person in banking, law, etc. is always working late and something always comes up. And it's not evil to not be able to support a lifestyle. That's called circumstance. If your friends are not willing to accommodate you at your lowest, you need to find new friends. The best things in life come free of charge.
@@willw1561 I think we are in agreement more than you think. The point that needs to be made is that too many people criticize long hours without knowing people’s situation. Too much over generalization.
I would not go back to that shithole even if my rent is paid for.
Want to let us in on your great place?☹️

Love every aspect of this video Henry… no fluff or crazy editing, just down to the point 🙌🏻 looking back on every failure of mine, I too have come to realize those moments of failure are what taught me how not to fail the next time around and what I need to change in order to become better 💪🏻. Looking forward to more videos brother!
Let's get after it. Much love🤟
Looking good Henry!

The support means a lot. Let’s keep getting after it my guy!
u r my coach
keep going 🙏
Thanks my guy, much love!!
This makes me want to put more effort into talking with no clutter. I say "like" way too much and I'm sure it gets annoying for others after a while. Anyways, great video, keep it up bro!
Being comfortable with pauses helped me a lot. I realized silence made me uncomfortable and clutter was used to fill the silence. Thanks man, good luck!
