The budget for a game like this is about $10-15 million (Sandrock was about $12 million in total). Kickstarter is basically extra money and some more wiggle room.

I totally agree! And looking at that big announcement photo, the female main character's hair and the shading on that rifle just scream AI to me, even after seeing the time lapse. Are they just painting copies of the AI generated references that they admitted they use?

Rather Project Me had elements of Sandrock (and Portia). Evershine is basically repurposed and remade Project Me.

I’m glad they strayed away from the anime art style. It’s becoming so common nowadays. It would help the game stand out even more.

As a person of color, I felt very represented in Sandrock. I’m originally from Texas and it’s very diverse. Sandrock really came through with their representation of colored people.

@@fireskinsidhe People should really stop to confuse game and social documentary. Not all game have obligation to have representation in the first place. If they want all them white they have the right, that not a crime. Same if they want them all black or all Indian or everything. That not our world, that a work of some authors. And if you want, you can create a person of color. White washing is a change, a transformation of a person of color to white. That not the case here, that disrespectull what you saying. That would be good if they had some so.

This is hilarious. I felt cringe romancing Owen in Sandrock, but I did it.

I agree. I understand suspension of disbelief, because "it's just a style", but it becomes difficult when my character looks roughly 13 and there are still young women like Amirah, Grace or Heidi in the game :D

You're right, they can literally do whatever with the story and location, but close to Duvos makes sense. Fortunately I don't think teenage Logan is even a possibility. Turns out Project Me was supposed to take place a few years after the events of Sandrock/Portia, with Logan's Monster Hunter Guild already up and running. Logan's mother showing up would be a cool touch, and it would tie things up nicely. Now all I need is some hints about Aadit.

@@leafandgames Few years after MTAP and MTAS would be amazing. I was honestly confused about the timeline when i was playing MTAS with the missions, mentions and character appearances. What are the chances that that white haired woman from the trailer is his mother? Her disappearance was always deemed strange. I also know some people theorise it's Ursula, but she's too young (tho retconning is not uncommon) I need Aadit to do some explaining... But I hope we get more knights and duvos characters from previous games. It's always fun plot when they are involved. And I hope a certain someone will be out of prison

Now we know why Haru gets glasses after he moves to Atara. (To those not in the know: This is canon! In the limited-release Logan comic, Logan visits Haru in Atara, and Haru is dressed completely differently and has glasses.)

I know what you mean. But yeah, I missed all their previous campaigns as well, I discovered the series a month before Sandrock went into Early Access. I'd like to contribute this time even though I sure won't be able to afford high tiers.

Frankly, I'm not a fan of management games either. Not in the slightest. All I want is my tools and my workshop. But guys at Pathea were talking about wanting to make a regular My Time game with city building elements even before Project Me switched from mobile gacha to premium, so I suppose they won't let go of that idea easily. Besides I shouldn't be designing ANYTHING. I can't even design my own lot properly, let alone the whole town :D But if it's as easy as it was in the mobile alpha, it shouldn't be much of a problem at all. Still gonna look wonky when I'm done with it :D

oof sucks that it went on sale so soon after you got it, I can see how that would be frustrating. But it's not really their fault though. It's normal for games to slowly reduce their price as they age + Steam and other platforms run those sales regularly each season (the summer sale being the biggest sale Steam does every year).

The KS is not a game purchase, it's a support campaign to finance the game. It's to show the devs that their project is viable and that we're interested and will probably play it. It has nothing to do with a normal purchase on Steam. And yes, you're right, if you're patient, you can wait to buy a game until it's on sale with a big discount. In any case, I'm going to support their campaign, because I loved Portia and Sandrock and I also know how much care, creativity and love they put into their games and how hard they work to get the result as perfect as possible, and how much they listen to their players. I have infinite respect for Pathea and her team.

As far as I know the price hasn't changed since the game's full release. There was a couple of sales, but they are a normal thing. I missed many sales in my life. If I felt cheated everytime I bought a game that got cheaper at some point, I'd stop playing games altogether. Of course it's your decision if you want to support the studio with your own money or not, and nobody can tell you what to do. But I don't think that missing a sale is a fair reason to be disappointed with the studio itself.

Oh, you an me both. The previous version of the anouncement mentioned it's not gonna be "My Time to Wait" this time, whatever that meant. But then they edited it, so it probably didn't mean what we would like it to mean 😅
