We're all on a budget and sometimes the right product to fit your needs is simply one you haven't seen yet. In this case, Mike was looking for a John Deere 2038R but really didn't need the fancy extras that came with it. Together, we determined that a John Deere 3038E would meet his needs better, all while saving him money! Yes, this is scripted but the example applies to many situations. Make ...

    I was carrying a loader full of firewood rounds, approx 75 lbs each, and when I raised the loader to dump on a pile, one piece slid back off the top of the stack and bounced on the hood of my almost new 1025r, less than 50 hours. I was about sick until I got off the tractor to inspect the damage. A slight scuff on the paint but I was able to buff that out in no time. Man, I am glad that wasn't steel.

  • @beardenstephen1
    @beardenstephen1 5 лет назад

    The REAL problem with plastic is aging, all of the engine heat & cool down cycles makes the JD plastic very brittle within a few years & cracks around the pin close/open removal points making the hood & side panels useless. You can easily spend $1000 plus for a set & do it again every 4-5 years. I've went through two sets already on one tractor & plastic welding is temporary at best because the plastic around the weld breaks again & looks like crap.

      I have no preference either way , have both...But no complaints with the 9 year old plastic hood on my 1025R...plenty of logs have bounced off it with no damage, and if I cared enough it would buff up like new (I don't...but I did buff a small part to test it) . Many of us have older metal hoods, let's face it after 30 years mine is bit beaten even after body work and paint. But again.... 6 of one half dozen of another....(shrug)

    The John Deere hood is Polycarbonate and has the same thermal working properties at -40 as during this test. After this demonstration, it needs no reshaping, which is the point of its construction. In real-use situations, loader bucket rollback spills and other types of contact with debris will not cause work-stoppage damage or engine compartment/component damage.

  • @G19Jeeper

    JD is simply set at a higher idle. You set the 2670 at a higher idle it will go as fast or faster

      Sorry, my friend but you are wrong!

    • @jakehandlos1710
      @jakehandlos1710 8 лет назад

      He is not, in a competitive comparison the BX comes out on top in every aspect. Also if the Deere would have had a mower deck on it, you would not be able to use the loader unless you paid almost $1,000 more for the extra hydraulic function.

    • @ctsround3
      @ctsround3 8 лет назад

      Wrong again! The mid-mount is operated with the rear 3-point lift assembly. With that being said, the hydraulics for the loader do not interfere with the mowing deck. However, if you wanted to use a rear implement in conjuncture with the mid-mount, you could opt for an independent hydraulic mid lift.

    • @jakehandlos1710
      @jakehandlos1710 8 лет назад

      The lift cylinder can be plumbed to the loader SCV and controlled from the loader stick. The quick disconnect hose plugs into the curl function and must be disconnected when using the loader. It can also be plumbed to a 3rd SCV but the 3rd SCV is not compatible with the power beyond kit. And then this thread shows the other option, putting the deck on its own circuit. If you don't want to unhook the loader you need to purchase a LVB26207 which is a diverter valve and oil line kit to make the hydraulic lift independent of the loader valve. But even if I am wrong about the valve, which I'm pretty sure I'm not, this is all besides the point. The point is the video above is not accurate. Run a BX next to a 1025, make sure neither of the operators work for Deere, and it looks nothing like the competitive comparison you've posted.

    • @ctsround3
      @ctsround3 8 лет назад

      All rhetoric aside, though we (myself and both operators of the equipment in this video) are Deere dealer employees, we are personally in no way affiliated with Deere themselves as individuals. If these results were manipulated, it was not in part of us. I can tell you first-hand that the RPMs were alike (according to the gauges) which is all we can go on. Use your own judgement when trialing equipment. This video is for entertainment purposes only and is not intended to slander a competitor, only to demonstrate our findings with both pieces of equipment.

  • @WJCTechyman
    @WJCTechyman 8 лет назад

    Both held up pretty well, except the Kubota hood has no noticeable blemishes and can be carefully reshaped, unlike the Deere, I see a number of ugly blemishes. Like one other commenter said, let's try that again in below freezing weather.
