I was at this concert. It was in Utrecht in the Netherlands during the No Nukes Festival. They were extremely exiting. One of my first real rock n roll experiences. I remember the cardboard trays you got when you bought more than one bear were piled up and set to light. It was a huge fire. The firemen put it out but before they could roll up their gear it was alight again. And again. They ended up just controlling the fire at the edges and let it burn. And this was indoors. We dancing around the fire. Meanwhile Adrian had been throwing his guitar to the floor and started citing quotes from other songs than they were playing. To me it was all very impressive. I have special fond memories of their version of Glass and Smoke that night. It was so much richer and more mysterious as it is on the album.
The core problem is: who the HELL made those missiles? Who the hell makes those missiles? When they know what they can do Missiles cause damage And make an eerie sound Missiles leave carnage Where there once was a town Who the hell makes those missiles?
You lucky bastard! I saw them in Bournemouth in the early 80's, then again two nights at the Marquee a' la Hothouse, when I was working in Wardour street - some one needs to do a documentary on this band, before it's too late!
I toured with these guys for five beautiful years through Europe, Best years of my life ! RIP Adrian and Max ...... Great to see so many people still love this music !
the sound were as close to perfection as you could get for new wave 80's rock. every single song was honest and urgent; watching the clips here is a revelation. Adrian : RIP, we still think about you a lot.
the first song i heard from the sound was "new dark age"...and was something so powerful and great.... this band is just great..... long live to the sound!!!!!
