Stereo / Radio installation Vauxhall Corsa C Facelift
Details on what is needed and how to wire an aftermarket stereo to Corsa C Facelift - replacing CD30 factory stereo.
There is a great video guide here ruclips.net/video/ajcXVDz9eeQ/видео.html - but some people like myself struggled to see what was done with the live feed and also had outstanding questions like ‘what fuse?’ Or ‘what about the blue cable?’. Hopefully this will help :)
The kit I purchased was this one www.ebay.co.uk/i/151946406122 and cost me £12.89. It includes pretty much everything you need apart from crimp connectors and inline 10AMP fuse!
Crimp connectors can be picked up for a few pence on eBay if needed or expect to pay £1 or so at Halfords.
As for the in-line 10AMP fuse...

Thanks so much. Why the hell these kits come with no instructions at all is a mystery to me.
the link isn't working
Thankyou
Hi there I’ve followed your video but stereo not working after wireing do you nowhere where fuse is located and Whitchurch one it is thanks
Hello, I have an Opel meriva and I also bought a reduction to 1 DIN radio, but if I connect the red cable and the radio does not turn off after removing the key, do I have to connect it to the lighter?
Thanks for this,it made it easier
What about the CD30 display?
Can I place that fuse to the other end of the red wire ? I am asking just because there is more space behind the radio than behind that lighter unit
Edit: You can safely put the red cable 12volt from the radio unit into the black cable in the back of the Corsa C lighter unit. Now when ignition is off the power cuts out. 👍 My friend has a garage and he installed my generic chinese radio unit. The issue I'm having is that the unit stays on when I turn off the ignition... 12v is NOT connected to the lighter but rather on the iso I believe... Will this issue reaolve if I put the red 12v on the lighter? 🤔
yeas
nice one fella, this just helped me fit my stereo..i had no way of clamping the plastic bits so they are just covered in black electrical tape......covered....but hey, it works so I'm happy :)
will it work without a fuse just crimp the wires together?
For switched live it's easier / better to go in to the fusebox in the glovebox, use a piggyback fuse. Main benefit to this is you're not cutting in to the cars wiring, its seperately fused and you can add other connections to the pigtail easily like hardwired dashcam, reverse camera monitors etc
How do you do this mate or do you have a link my cigarette lighter doesn’t work and I’ve changed the fuse and still doesn’t work
@@owengordon8165 get a piggyback fuse, crimp the long red live wire from the stereo to the connection on it, pass behind stereo in to the glovebox fuse box, might have to remove the glovebox to do it, remove fuse 13 or 14 (bottom 2 on the 2nd row of fuses) put the removed fuse in to the piggyback holder and plug it in to where you removed the fuse. Stereo should come on with the ignition, if radio stations aren't saved swap over the yellow / red on the stereo Simple stuff
Can I not just connect the wires and put some electrical tape around or do I have to crimp them together
Also your an absolute legend mate
@@owengordon8165 most piggyback fuses come with the crimp bit attached already so just put the wire in and squeeze it with some pliers, you can just cut it off and tape / solder them together.
Did you switch yellow with red on the bullet connectors!?
What about steering wheel controls
Totally the wrong way to wire it where do you think the power comes from for the old stereo the bloody tail light
What would you suggest then?
@@yoyoyo3531 you need to check out for the radio original cables, you are going to find 2 power source, one is going to be constant 12 volts and the other is going to be activated when you turn the key, you dont need to look for cables in the lighter. the constant 12 volts let you save all the data in your radio (setting , fm , am, etc.)
@@paullopez8076 any of the original Vauxhall / Opel head units with a 2 digit model number such as CD30 don’t have the ignition switch feed to them so the feed from the cigarette light is required. Units with a 3 or 4 digit model number eg CD300 or CD3000 have a standard ISO connection so the take off from another source isn’t required - other videos on RUclips show this
You don’t need to wire anything into lighter 😡
to where do you need to wire the red cable then ?
Where do u wire the red cable ?
Hi I've wired my Sony using the same process but now have no front passenger electric window would the ignition live have caused this
Why do a video if your not willing to answer people's question in the comments
To be fair if he replies it would be out of goodwill He's not obliged to reply
Hi there! You didnt cover where to put blue cable from iso. 1 is power, second antena goes to radio, but what with this 3rd blue one??
I get so lost when it comes to the lighter wiring.
Hi iv followed all the steps however I'm not getting any audio through the speakers? do you know why this might be?
Can you not just splice the red wire into the black wire but stripping some of the insulation of the black and wrapping the wire around it, then fixing together with electrical tape?
Milo Harper u can
How did you get the red cable to be out the way?/ round the back
do you know where you can get he frame fitting kit. the guy in the other video uses a black frame to secure it in place near the end.
Try to find someone who can 3d print it for you. The frame is very expensive and not worth it imo. Maybe aliexpress has cheaper frames idk.
@@4n0nym0u5 wtf? It costs like 10 quid mate
Thanks a lot for taking the time to make this.
