Click here for pure exhaust noise: ruclips.net/video/d1JHw95SLGE/видео.htmlsi=IL36uAKY-vaqJlQV This is the overly long story of how I finally bit the bullet and modified the exhaust system on my 2019 Triumph Speed Twin. A Motone X-pipe was always the plan, but a pair of Akrapovic slip-ons swooped in first. After those two came a K&N air filter and a DNK TuneWorks tune. I absolutely love the res...

Ah, the great outdoors. I have wanted to motocamp since before I ever even rode a motorcycle, and after 8 years of diversions into the supersport and retro worlds, I am finally getting to it. Hop aboard my Triumph Speed Twin 1200 for a one-night shakedown of my new motocamping setup at a national forest not too far from Washington, DC. Ode to Revel // electric scooter rentals

Like many cities today, my hometown of Washington, D.C. is flush with dockless electric vehicle rental services. My favorite of these "last-mile" transit solutions is Revel, a service that lets you hop on electric scooters scattered around the city and get whererever you need to go with silent 125cc-like power. More convenient than public transportation, faster than a kick scooter or ebike, che...
No GPS Tour: THE MOVIE (2021) // Triumph Speed Twin 1200 solo road trip

Merry holidays! This is all six episodes of the No GPS Tour edited into one full-length movie. Hopefully this will reach a lot of people who've never seen the original series, and be a worthwhile rewatch for those who have. The eagle-eyed Van Famm may even notice a few small tweaks... So why release this now? Simple, because I didn't get to take a big moto trip in 2022, but I still want to shar...

Can my Speed Twin survive Beartooth Pass? // No GPS Tour, Part 5
Ever hear the saying horses for courses🤔you buy/ride it for what it is and you’re riding style is different too the next person. Hopefully you’re comments won’t deter new riders.
Great video 🇨🇦 new sub
I have that helmet, in yellow and the ST1200 is my aim for my next bike. Subscribed.
Hah, we'd be Speed Twin twins
Freddie Dobbs would have taken the battery out for a night to reset the computer. He’s had his dramas.
Good point!
Thank you! BTW- The fix for the bugs on your lens...set a frog atop the camera. Works every time.
Genius!
Thanks for the vid. I am still not convinced though. And I don’t want to modify my throttle housing with something that can break and clog things. I have noticed that Road mode is jerky but Sport mode is much better ! Sport mode and proper throttle gripping works for me :) problem solved!
Sounds completely different than stock. Gone is the deep muscly tone.

Outstanding videos. An incredible amount of work in getting the raw footage and editing. I really enjoy your videos. Please keep making great content. I am binging on your touring vids. Ride safe and have fun.
Thank you!!
Good debrief
Love your videos interesting your comments about the shocks and back sprocket cheers from the land down under 😂
LOLOLOL i did...i did think you were about to try that shit and I was like "bold move cotton, lets see how it plays out". Thanks for the video bud.
Haha, I bet there's somebody out there who could pull it off. Like those guys who change out their front wheel while doing a wheelie.
the lugage problem can be solved with an other box behind the bike right?
Yes, as long as your suspension setup can handle that weight distribution
I have one and it’s a perfect cruiser.
Nice. I like them more every time I see one.
What’s it like in the rain? As a tourer?
Great in the rain with the right tires. Great tourer for 200-300 mile days in the mountains or 300-400 mile days on the freeway. Any longer than that and seat comfort will be your limitation.
What is your fuel range and mpg?
About 60mpg on the freeway. Furthest I've ever gone on a tank was 205 miles, but that was scary; indicated range was at zero for a good 5-10 miles, and I pumped more than the listed capacity back into the tank afterward. A reasonable freeway fuel range for this bike is more like 180. In day-to-day life I'm averaging 48mpg and refueling at about 140.
What you lack in talent you make up in persistent and humility. I really enjoy these videos
Thank you
What happened to your bike when you were out west? Check engine light and abs light? I have never seen an update. Thanks!
It turned out to just be the battery going bad: ruclips.net/video/CKgj6boQGQQ/видео.htmlsi=61hXYFfyTwL6Xhy4
So what tyres do u suggest?
Michelin Road 5 or 6
@@VanBlamm pirelli phantom sportscomb???
@@gabrieleangione5139 No to Pirelli Phantom!! They are awful, it is a shame Triumph put them on so many bikes.
Great video!
Круто. Я проехал на своём triumph bonneville T 100 540 миль за 12 часов)

I noticed that "Kendon" owners don't show how difficult it is to tilt the trailer up. It is almost impossible to tilt up the trailer as it starts to roll forward on the dollie wheels. I had to jamb the trailer against the wall in order to tilt the trailer up. A second person is necessary. I will be looking to sell mine. This is not acceptable!
Apologies for not showing it in the video, but I did figure out a technique to make this work with just one person. While the trailer is still laid flat, rotate the lower pair of caster wheels so that they point up (they'll want to fall down, so you must balance them carefully). In this position, they won't contact the ground until the trailer is vertical enough not to roll on them. If this doesn't work, try laying a 2x4 out to act as a chock for the caster wheels when they reach the ground. Try these before you give up on this trailer
@@VanBlamm I have 4 steel swivel wheels. They have zero grip and skate on the concrete. I am going to look into rubber swivel wheels with a foot brake. My Kendon is a two bike 1995 model in mint condition. About 600 miles and garage stored.
Get the Ohlins and most importantly set them up properly with the correct spring.
I have a Craig letter triumph hurricane with the original BSA rocket 3 ...mabey ill sell it and get 1 of these ..lol
Take a shot every time he talks about boy scouts
There's a simple hack for the sluggish handling of the T120: increase the tire pressure by a few PSI. I know that sounds stupid, but it has become a well-known phenomenon with this bike. The recommended pressures from Triumph are some of the lowest I have seen for any street motorcycle. Why Triumph did it this way, only they could answer, but I was decidedly unhappy with my T120's reluctance to turn until I found a post on the TriumphRat forums talking about this exact subject. I went from 32/36 PSI to 35/39 and it was like a different bike. It still weighs 520 lbs, so it is never going to be an Aprilia Tuono, but now it is acceptably nimble for a sporty cruiser.
I have done a plus 1 on a couple of my bikes. Makes a big difference
I eventually went minus 3 in the rear (roughly same effect as +1 in front). Cruising is noticeably easier now, and acceleration has not suffered.
What gloves are you wearing in this video?
The Indie Ridge Golden Gloves. Recommended!
There's a lot of shitty batteries floating around. BMW, and Harley have had a fair share of complaints about batteries.
I had a set of non-remote res Ohlins and they really sucked. The adjustments just did not made any difference. I heard that if you start from zero and count out clicks they can be damaged?? Anyhow, sold the bike, a Triumph Bonnie SE. Go with Nitrons. I did w my Speed Twin and I am happy. Just make sure they are not over sprung!
Great video by the way. I am from Hagerstown, my brother lives in Leesburg. We both ride. I now live overseas in Scotland. Great Highland roads when the weather is nice. Really like my Speed Twin; forever bike??
Doesn't this guy get tired? Salute to him
Going to have these fitted to 114 breakout in chrome ,wanted v&h slash slip ons but none in stock nice video
You will not be disappointed
Hate your videos. They make me want that bike soooo much. Have a Tracer 9 GT right now which is perfect, but does not have a soul…..that is really the only thing wrong with it. Will probably get the Triumph anyway.
Hah thanks. A Speed Twin 1200 and Tracer 9 GT would make great stablemates if you can have both!
I don t understand…can I ask u if with a new ecu by dnk your bike have anyway 3 map rain/road/sport but modified for your exhaust?
Yes, same three maps as before but each one has been modified with the correct air/fuel ratios for the exhaust
@@VanBlamm thank you!!
Indie Ridge is Top-Tier & Their Customer Service Is Exemplary!
Amen!
pretty
Here's the thing; if Triumph offered a Speed Twin R with all the goodies, SIGNIFICANTLY less people would buy the Thruxton R. I'm amazed that the Twin is as close to a Thruxton as it is with that smaller price tag.
Now that the Thruxton is officially getting discontinued, I wonder if the door has been opened for a proper Speed Twin R
I'm even more happy with my '21 XC now. Thanks for the video!
Much deeper sounds without decat
True
back in the day when you go oversea's and ask people directions they will give you directions in a North to south way to travel. But in the United States people give you directions in the Right to Left, up and down way of travel. Its super interesting. Scientist think this is so because overseas the direction is dictated toward the movement of the Sun. So people know where north and south is at all times. but in America people have no idea where north and south is located directly where they're standing.
It is true, in America the sun rises to the right and sets to the left
Great video 👌🏻
Great channel and content, Van Blamm. I too have an XC and find it to be best of several worlds. It really feels like a premium bike, with cruise, lit buttons in the dark, fit and finish, and engine/ride quality. I’m quite smitten. I had the speed twin on my short list, but found the motorcycle just a little too small. This one fits perfectly. Is it fun at 85 on the freeway? No. But it’s amazing from 0-75, on my roads here in Northern California and in the garage.
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching!
Excellent vid ,just. Swaped my thruxton r for this and can't wait to blast around yorks....
Nice! I'll be very interested to hear how the StripleR's handling compares to the Thruxton R with its Ohlins
Crazy Trip Van Blamm, So i ride the Triumph T120, compared to your bike i have approx 20 less HP but a much more comfortable stock seat 🙂My longest trips have only been half of yours but i really do everything to avoid highways hence not so easy to rack up the miles...on the other hand the miles are not my usual goal but the general ride is. Sometimes one needs to get from A to B and then one might need to go on the highway. You posted the temperature 3deg celcius as i also have open bike like yours and i also have the stock heated grips. My problem is after 40min in those temperature my finger are so cold, the heated grips do not help much for the finger hovering over the break and only warms up the inside of the hands and fingers. So i am curious how you managed this long trip in that temperature? BR Tore (Norway)
Hi Tore! I believe the stock heated grips are not known for being exceptionally warm; my Koso grips, though the installation isn't exactly seamless, do get a bit hotter than Triumph's. I also don't ride with fingers on the brake when I'm just cruising, which probably helps. Lastly, I love my Rev'It Boxer H2O gloves, they are very good in the cold. Even with all that, my hands do go numb after a while, and I just have to carry on. Ride safe!
Haha soon to be a new rider and I’m stuck between the iron 1200 or the 114 low rider s haha granted yes the LRS is heavier, bigger and way more torque but I’ve never been a speed demon and I could potentially grow into this bike and not want another one and yes I’ll be buying an engine guard and rear frame slides and yea it’s more expensive but I think ima lean towards getting a LRS
Between the two, start on the 1200 and then upgrade. You'll pick up some bad habits trying to manage the LRS as a new rider. If you have the patience to start small and upgrade after a year, you will become a way more skilled rider and appreciate the LRS much more.
I need you to give me the bike
Sweet video dude! A few years back I did the trip from the Pocono’s in Pa down to Asheville on the BLP. Took several days to get there. Did the return trip along your route 627 miles home in one shot on my Beemer K1200GT. Makes me want the Speed Twin!
That's awesome!
