First time taking the Kingfisher in saltwater. I launched from Rosario Beach in Deception Pass State Park. It was near the end of Spot Shrimp season so I made an experimental shrimp trap using those castable crab traps. Next time think I need more extra weight on it and short, heavy fishing rod.

Went to Lake Stevens in Lake Stevens to try to catch Kokanee. We had no idea what we were doing. Also tried using a cheap fishfinder. It seemed to show correct depths and showed "fish" on the sonar. Skunked this trip but it was a good learning experience. Special Guests: Arturo and Mario

Sold the Oru Inlet kayak and bought my first fishing kayak: a Point65 Sweden Kingfisher modular kayak. I wanted something that could store in an apartment but also capable for fishing. The Oru was extremely portable but not well suited for fishing.
