Bandon Roundabout (3rd Exit) - Wilton Test Routes Cork
In this video, we will navigate around two of Cork's most difficult roundabouts: Sarsfield Road Roundabout and Bandon Roundabout!
Use this video to conquer these roundabouts and show confident driving on test day!
We will take the slip road left before reaching Sarsfield Road roundabout and make our way to Bandon Roundabout - taking exit number three.
IMPORTANT
1. Slow "Walking Pace" approach to roundabouts - allowing time to look right at approaching traffic.
2. Use 2nd gear for all manoeuvres inc. Roundabouts, Left and Right Turns, & Speed Bumps! (I recommend dropping gear by gear to allow for a gradual, smooth reduction in speed)
3. Roundabouts are all yields - it is not necessary to stop co...

In this video, I begin at Wilton Driving Test Centre and make my way down to the Sarsfield Road roundabout and take exit 3 to the South Ring road. The main focus of this video is: 1. Use of G.O.S.H when moving off & complying with the STOP sign at the Wilton test centre exit. 2. To show my position as I take the 3rd exit right on the Sarsfield Road roundabout. 3. Highlight the importance of che...
Driving Test Tips - Wilton, Cork Route

In this video, I show a possible start & end section of the Wilton, Cork driving test. I discuss areas to show extra caution and share some general tips. The weather was bad while recording this video and traffic was build-up in areas due to these weather conditions! Remember to always clear a box junction when you are in it once it is clear of traffic, even when the lights turn amber/red. Come...

I like your video... Very helpful...
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for video!
Is it incorrect to be in the middle lane for the 2nd exit on the Sarsfield roundabout?
If you are leaving the test centre road and approaching Sarsfield Rd roundabout to take the 2nd exit you should be in the left lane. The left lane will bring you around the outside of the roundabout and into the left of two lanes approaching Wilton roundabout.
Hi, i am driving an automatic car. I was told by my instructor to just put on the hand brake and remain on drive gear while waiting for the signal. Is this correct?
This is correct. If waiting at a red light for more than 5 seconds it's good practice to secure the car with the handbrake. Remain in drive so that when the light changes to green, you will be prepared to move off!
@ thanks for replying!
7:58 when you moved beyond the line and as you said you got caught by other cars possibly jumping the amber/red. is it acpecptable practise to prodised to turn rigith in that case or should you wait normally and back up if there is room, keeping in mind you said you where caught? in this situation with an examiner what is best? and should I verbaly explain myself should I get caught out in a similar situation or remain silent?
@@5thRace Thanks for your comment! What I did was fine as I moved into the yellow box on the GREEN light. However, I was delayed on my exit due to the 2 oncoming cars breaking their red light. In a test environment, the examiner would understand why I delayed my exit.
I watched this video when i had confusion about Wilton roundabout 3rd exit....it helped me a lot and i passed my test. Thank you so much
Thank you very much! So glad these videos help and congrats on the pass 💯💯💯
Cork drivers are psychopaths would hate to do my test there.
Thanks for your clips. Can you do a video coming from the test centre to Bishopstown? where the testers take you, please?
Ahhh the normal weather of Ireland.
I have a library insurance and the original insurance cert was sent by PDF. Will it be accepted if I just print it? I have a test next week in Wilton and my instructor said no. But I don't have enough time to ask liberty to send it to me.😢
I'd say your best bet is to get a high quality print of that PDF in colour and cut out & display the disc on the car (make sure the green stripe is also on display)
Passed my test Tuesday, thanks for your videos and advice, I watched your videos so much I became familiar with the route and it paid off, there were a lot of people there who failed and were really upset, if you do fail take the testers advice and work on it, practice practice practice, even when I wasn’t driving I was constantly studying videos like this to help me and it paid off.
Well done Ben! Your hard work paid off, best of luck with your driving 🙌
on the test day do we need to open both windows of car or closed?
They will most likely ask you to open both windows about an inch.
@@CompleteDrivingSchool thanks
will i fail the test if i fail to move on or stop the engine in hill start?
It wouldn't be an outright fail (grade 3) but it would be a grade 2 mark
Thank you so much
is it essential to signal right before passing if the front vehicle is stop?
Yes, we must check our mirrors and signal out from a stationary / parked vehicle 👍
Do you need to indicate right before that third exit on the Wilton roundabout and signal left after the second exit
Correct, signal right on approach to the roundabout and change to left signal after passing exit 2 👍
@@CompleteDrivingSchool thanks, I watch this video every day, it's been very helpful to me and it's a relaxing watch especially when I'm waiting to do my test
Thank you so much
Thanks, great video. At the junction at 8.05 mins is it ok to proceed beyond the traffic lights, behind the car when lights are green? When they go red is it ok to finish off the right turn on red?
It is OK to move up into the junction when the light is green as long as you give way (and allow space) to oncoming traffic. There was no filter arrow on this junction, so when the light went amber and red I needed to clear the box at the next safest opportunity (before cars on my left and right got their green light). Hope this helps! 😁
After the reverse around the corner you have to check all blind spots again before moving off
Absolutely, you are moving off from a parked position again. This is something that catches a lot of people!
Thanks for explaining the signals at the roundabouts
Handbrake always at lights ?
I recommend the rule: if you are waiting for more than 5 seconds, Use your handbrake! 👍👍
Please send it as more than this. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much. I was there last week with my brother still have same confuse for turnabout
Thanks!
Welcome!
Very helpful smooth and gentle driving no rush driving no confusion to the learner unlike some instructors who push the learner to rush and confuse the Lerner ultimately fails the test very good lesson
