I bought a 2024 two months ago, and the only thorn so far is the annoying red accents on the front. It is getting tint in 2 weeks. the next step will be blacking out at least the front facia and grill.

How do you feel about the tread life in the fire hawks so far? I heard complaints about them
I had a set i ran for about 4 months and they were at about 50% afterwards. But I drive very hard and had put about 10k on them by that point. The PS4s I got after lasted half as long.

Thinking about getting a gli myself, but part of me is scared to do upgrades because of how my 04 passat turned out....build the power or buy it, im on the fence
MQB is an easy platform to work on tbh and pretty reliable from the looks of it in comparison to older vw platforms. I would go for it!

Do you like the APR intake? Seems like it’s pretty dirty and could get hot since it’s so big. Thinking about getting the IE intake no cover bc not paying that carbon fiber tax
Honestly the apr intake is okay at best. I wouldn't have bought it knowing what I know now. The heat soak is apparently worse than stock but idk, it sounds cool i guess lol. I would go with the blaze intake tbh ie is good too though

This video is gonna make me redo my inlet tomorrow morning. I should have put the oem ring on instead of the one the camr with the IE inlet because that IE was tiny compared to oem. And before i use to get stututu sounds and now its more like a harsh deeper whoosh. I mean i felt like that wasnt normal when i first did it but i was like nah. But then u mentioned the air that’s probably leaking thru and now im concerned thats maybe why…no other videos i look up about inlet show up about this. I just decided to scroll thru your page and watch this vid and seem u say that and i was like hmmmmm maybe thats why i hear a different sound!! Lol ill see tomorrow tho.

How's the Mount doing now that it's been a little while? My biggest complaint on this car would be the little kick you feel on the downshifts when coming to a stop.
It definitely helped with that. Overall I am happy. When i first start the car and its cold it is a bit rough. Though I am not sure 100% if its from the dog bone
@@Mk7John probably a little bit of dog bone then a little bit of cold start and the SAI doing its thing through the intake. Cold starts are always weird on these things while it's getting its bearings lol

@@Mk7John somebody I spoke to that recently did the IE DSG tune said they thought the bucking with the autorev downshifting may have gotten worse with the tune because of the clamping force. Do you think you noticed that getting worse after the tune?

Warm up the engine briefly to help the coils come out smoothly.
Maybe next time prep first by checking what you need for the job. It will make life lots easier.

Quick tip, the Volkswagen Electrical Class I was sent to, the Instructor said to remove those plastic ground housings and throw them in the trash if we come across one that's accessible. Said it creates an "Improved" ground point. But good vid. I'm waiting on Cobb to support the MK7.5 platform so I can run EQT tunes again. It was awesome.

I have a 2019 GLI.. not a fan of the new front and back end they did starting in 2020. But you blacking everything out makes it look pretty good looking. Nice build man.

The did a Facelift in 2022 and changed the exhaust it looks different than the 20-21. I have the 22 Gli Autobahn Black Package In Pure Grey with like 8700 miles. I been having it for 2 years. It had 5 miles when it was delivered for me. It's a solid car other than some airbag issues I had early on. I have a 2023 Taos Sel and its decent too, It had 25 miles when I got it. Also I haven't been able to get a legit alignment on the GLI, which sucks. The Front and back looks dope, I didn't like the front that much at first but it's so beautiful in Pure Grey. I don't like it in black honestly.
@@Mk7John The put the Audi oval style Exhaust tips on it. It looks amazing and it sounds good.

They’re both great, but you’re off your rocker if you don’t think the mk7 is the better and more attractive car.

My mk6 is heavily modified and i literally cant picture a mk7 looking even nearly as good. The thing looks like an upside down boat. Idk what they were thinking with that design but it looks like something hyundai would design or kia.
