This is one of the three test I did with my Rode Wireless Go and my GoPro Hero 8. I was saying the same thing in all of the videos but they were in different locations of the park where the sun was shining in my face in this video but not so much in the other two which kind of made the other two videos better looking in video quality (ie color, saturation, etc.).

Raleno Webcam C30: Video Quality Review
Thanks for the wife tip!😂 they only want something when I’m doing something. Expanded.
Do the mixers do the sound effects?
This one had a sound effects yes. Most of them do these days
Thanks it was very helpful... I was battling with it for so long. You have to set the input to different inputs on each track for you to record 2 tracks simultaneously. I mean track 1 has to be set to input 3, then track 2 set to input 4. Then you can arm both tracks and record 2tracks simultaneously...
If using copyrighted material is so forbidden on RUclips, how come there are thousands of videos of people reacting to music these days?
Because there are so many of these violations RUclips can’t keep up with all of them. You probably won’t get caught today or tomorrow but it will happen sooner or later and when it does it’s not going to be good for you
Looks great with the GoPro. Impressed.
Thanks for the tutorial, great job!
Thanks for this great tutorial ! It doesn't work with "multi track" for me but it does with "stereo mix". Have a great day !
Great video sir <3
I have 4 xlr mics . What interface can I buy to connect them for my podcast? I have adobe audition for my Voice over . New subscriber
Thanks Andre I’m going to use it for producing music in Logic Pro. This is for the voice, and percussion on my congas and bongos. Also I moght use it for a podcast i have about Bitcoin. We are 3 people delivering the podcast. So might be a challenge there because I will need 2 additional microphones. So many thanks
Thanks
I started with a noise gate and later changed to a downward expander instead.
Very helpful! Thanks Andre!
Thank you so much! This video helped me out A LOT!
EXCELLENT, THANKS!
Great content bro! I have a podcast myself and it’s always to learn some game
Almost like what a hub is to a switch in the networking world
Ty!
This is a quick and very helpful starting point for everyone new to vocal processing with logic pro.
Logi Brio 4k is the best camera I've been testing :-)
Great video
Thank you ISAAC. Most appreciated brah.
@@StartToFinishPodcastingTV u're welcome
Would have been good if you'd hit bypass on your expander to let us hear your aircon, freezer, daughters talking and wife calling for comparison. Nice explanations anyway. Thanks!
Since you're plugged into your computer with the USB cable, you don't have to power the H6 with batteries. It can be powered via your USB connection.
6:39 That is not designed "for 2 people", it is not "one mic per person". That capsule is 2 small condenser microphone stereo pair in XY position, one of the recording techniques for getting the stereo recordings - you have AB, XY etc. XY technique would have engineer set up two microphones under angles of 60 to 90 degrees, depending of how far and how many sources they want to record, as well as the width of the stereo field you want to get. This capsule is great for ambience recording but can also allow for recording a dialogue.
To each their own. What works for others may not work for you. Opinions do not determine if using the mics is good for everyone. Every is different.
@@StartToFinishPodcastingTV Absolutely, I am not talking application, but technical difference from what you called “one mic per person” as there are two mics. It doesn’t work like that:) As I mentioned this is one of the classic stereo miking techniques, for recording anything.
Blu Phi what's good frat loving the content MAB
thanks man!
No problem. Glad I could help.
The Cloudlifter does provide gain at an EIN of -130 dBu. The DBX 286S gives gain at an EIN of -126dBu. So we’re talking about a 4dBu difference here. And yes, the 286S has an expander gate. But if it opens up, to let your voice pass, everything passes, including the input noise. Using the Cloudlifter you can have a lower overall noise with the gate open, IF you don’t have a lot of ambiance noise, so the self noise becomes a significant part of the overall noise. But if you don’t have a lot ambiance noise… Why even bother to get the 286S in the first place? Maybe for the compression, but if you get the 286S, you have the expander gate. Why would you not use it? So… no, unless you are very nerdy, with a very quiet room and want to he the cleanest output possible with the gate open, which nobody would ever notice, you don’t need the Cloudlifter CL-1 with the DBX 286S.
Thanks for your response Michael. In reference to your comment I think you may be getting confused between a Noise Gate and an Expander. You were absolutely correct about the noise gate. The noise gate is the tool that lets your voice pass with everything else in the background. However the expander doesn't work like that. The expander (based on the settings you set) takes any noise/gain in the background (lower than your voice) and lowers it even lower gradually so it does not cut the background noise hard. There is a huge difference between a noise gate and an expander. I have my expander settings to lower any signal lower than my actual voice so nothing gets picked up. Therefore when I have the air vent on and planes are flying over my house the recording doesn't pick it up even when I am talking. As far as as the Cloudlifter, no you don't need it if you have a DBX286s. However people use a cloudlifter with the DBX286s to get an even better sound. Everyone has different preferences. Me myself I say it all the time but I am an audio snob so I do use the cloudlifter with the DBX286s. It allows me to turn the original gain down even lower to reduce any possible background noise even more. That is just why when planes fly over my house and the air events start blowing out and making a lot of fan noise my recordings never pick any of that stuff up at all. The lower I can turn my gain down the more quiet my background is. So that is why I use a cloudlifter with my DBX286s. I believe that audio is important along with the content. But everyone is different. Some people dont place an emphasis on audio. I am one that does.
Here is a video that I made in which military jet planes were flying over my house during this entire recording of this video. Not to mention my children laughing and screaming in the background (in the other room). I live right next to a military base so when they fly over my home they are only about 1000ft above me because they are about to land. The house shakes and everything LOL but yet my recording in this video did not pick up any of that with me using the cloudlifter and the DBX286s together. ruclips.net/video/A1sO780GYn8/видео.html
No I don’t think, I get it confused - No matter if it’s a noise gate or expander gate. Once it’s open, it’s open. It’s when they close, where they differ. But when open, any noise gets through. And each time you talk, it IS open. The thing is: If noise in your room is low enough for your self noise to become a factor, your voice will easily drown out any noise one might hear, no matter if it’s self noise or room noise. But Room noise in any room with an AC or a PC running is guaranteed to be much higher than even the self noise of your DBX 286S with the Shure SM7B. We need to differentiate here. You don’t use a particularly noisy interface. And neither is the DBX 286S very noisy. This makes it completely irrelevant. That’s what I was referring to, when I argued, that you don’t need the Cloudlifter. And if you use it just to „drive the 286S less hard“, all you do, is to show less confidence in the DBX286S. I think that device is easily capable of running 24:7. think about it, they didn’t even put an off switch on it.
@@MichaelW.1980 A noise gate and an expander are not the same. All I know is, with planes and jets flying directly over my house while I am recording, my recording doesnt pick any of that noise up whether I am speaking or not speaking (open or closed). What works for me may may not work for you and I can respect that. Whatever you do to get your audio sounding the way you want it to sound makes it right for you and whatever others do to get their audio to sound good tmakes it right for them. Everyone does different things and there is no wrong way to do what one feels is right for their audio.

what if a netflix show is playing in the back ground?
Not sure about that JB. Wil you be playing the audio from that Nexflix video?
Hey dude you seem like you know a lot about this stuff. Saw your video on cloudlifters. My question is this: suppose I have to go to 75% gain on my interface without a cloudlifter for my dynamic mic and let's say 40% or something with the cloudlifter. Would the lower % gain on the interface lead to a CLEARER sound quality than the 75% gain on the interface without the cloudlifter? I've seen some videos on this, and sometimes I can hear a clear difference, and sometimes I can't hear a difference at all. Obviously different depending on what mic and all, but like... in general?
You would have a better sound with using the Cloudlifter with your Audio interface. I use the Cloudlifter with my audio interface and keep the audio interface at 0% (turned completely all the way down) but I run my mic into the Cloudlifter, into a DBX 286s, into my audio interface. The audio is clear and dead with no background noise at all. None whatsoever. You may not have a a DBX 286s so if you run your mic into a cloudlifer, then I to your audio interface you may have to set the audio interface to about 10%. You would have to adjust it to your liking so play with the different ranges
@@StartToFinishPodcastingTV hey I just checked out the 286 after you responded. Wouldnt it make more sense to buy a 286 instead of a cloudlifter? Or am I not understanding this at all?
@@tubingforever a lot of people just get the 286 without the Cloudlifter and the works pretty good. Some do both the Cloudlifter and the DBX 286 as this allows your audio signal to be dead silent in the background. Some say using both are overkill but I don't think so. Using both allows my audio to be outstanding
@@tubingforever Technically, you really do not need the Cloudlifter if you have a DBX286s. Your audio will still sound good.
Can I use it if am using an android?
THIS is the type of teachers we need. "If you 5ft, you aint getting in. If you 6ft, you coming in. That's how noise gate work ... now take ft to db and there you have it" BOOM, done to the point and learned within 3 minutes. Music class from 97, i'd still be trying to figure it out. I hated my teacher
nice tutorial bet noise gate and expander with your explanation i have to use expander. Beside i have my expander from the old amplifier but i dont know how it works.now i can use it better cause of my youtube editing , my electric fan receives a lot of noise i hope it eliminate using my expnder. thanks a lot for this topics.
I'm surprised how little difference I hear between the ATR 2100 and the RE320. Especially considering the price difference.
I’m in the middle of deciding between an audio interface or mixer. I figure that I would be using this piece of hardware for streaming and podcasting, but what alternatives would you recommend?
Hi, Great video. I'm having the same problem. I just bought the SM7B. I did however owned the DBX for a while now. I am super curious to hear what your audio sounds without the gate/expander on. Just the scarlett+DBX+cloudlifter. I'm really on the trigger to get the cloudlifter because I caaant stand the white noise from the preamp. Like you, I am also an audio snob and I just want good clean audio (live).
Focusrite solo or Focusrite 2i2 (if you have guest on co-host). As far as a mic I would get Shure SM58
Thank you so much you have no idea how much your videos are helping me stay on course and keep going and pushing with my podcast goals Thank you your a blessing !!!
That’s sweet man :)
Thanks bro
Thanks dude!
BROOKLYN NETS REPRESENT!!!
Expander. And unless you are performing live, skip the hardware solution and just use a plugin!
This is just my opinion but plugins are secondary (just my opinion). It all depends on the user and what works best for them. Some will use plugins while others choose hardware. I find that for me plugins don't work well and do a thorough enough job than when I use hardware. Some users will use plugin as it is a lot cheaper to get free plugins compared to buying hardware. Like I said though it all depends on the user. I rather have hardware. Me using plugins compared to using hardware is like me going into the store and buying the Food Lion/Kroger/ShopRite/Harris Teeter brand of sugar flakes cereal instead of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes.
@@StartToFinishPodcastingTV it's a different purpose. In live performance, the processing needs to be applied in real time. But when studio recording, you are better off recording the master "clean" -- without effects -- and adding effects in post/render. With decent preamps/converters, there is nothing you can't do better in post, unless your gain is too high and you are clipping.
@@mrtechie6810 I am now confused bro LOL. We were talking about using hardware vs plugins. Now you switched it up to the subject of recording with plugins vs recording without plugins. I guess I can address the "recording with vs recording without" plugins. The keyword you said in your last reply was "better off". The term "better off" is very subjective. Your "better off" may be different from someone else's "better off". What works for you may not work for the next person. I think you and I agree on the same thing but I may have not been clear in this video. When I talk about using hardware instead of plugins I didnt mean it in instances of prerecording. What I meant was that I prefer hardware when I am going live compare to using plugins. Now when recording a prerecorded podcast then it is best to record clean with no effects. I myself sometimes record with live processing applied to my live recordings because I have been in this game for a long time and know the exact settings I need to obtain good audio while others may not. If someone is more on the side of being a new podcaster then I strongly recommend that they record flat with no effects. However for a seasoned podcaster as myself I know more of what I am doing so applying effects (whether it is live recordings or prerecorded recordings) I get the same good results.
How do u make it to where it don’t clip cause when I try to move the slider thing it won’t allow me to record on the same track without it clipping
Heyyyy Sheens! I didnt understand your question. Can you specify in more clear detail.
Thanks!
With your H6. Do you get audio interference when powering it via the USB port?
Never tried to see if it would give power through USB. I usually use the batteries in my H6.
When it is connected to a laptop via usb in audio interface mode does the usb power up the H6?
Yes, it should :)
HEY ANDREW WILL THIS WORK GOOD TO RECORD GUITARS AND MICS INTO REAPER SOFTWARE ?
Yes
hello what audio interface you recommend for sm7b?
I recommend the Focusrite 2i2.
Glad you’re back!!
RandomAccount007 wuss going on bro?
Thank you! I'm just getting started. I bought the Focusrite Scarlett 212, and then learned about audio mixers. Your review was most helpful in understanding the difference between the two! I'm going to return the Focusrite and get a mixer instead. Ciao!
thank you so much! ♥
I'm confused, you say at 4:32 to choose multitrack, while you hover on stereo mix, and then end up setting it up as stereo mix. I'm not getting my mic powered up so I wish you would have gone a bit more in-depth with the features of it. Thanks though
