Hi @Dávid, did you do anything special to launch Valheim on the Snapdragon X Elite? Other people who tested it (e.g. LinusTechTips) failed: the game is crashing at startup.
@@seblanc no, I dont remember but, the drivers currently not support vulkan, so you definietly need to choose something else

Thanks I was thinking of getting a laptop for both studying and playing games and this gave an insight to playing Java edition with mods
i would say the performance is rather similar in rage from an 7-9th gen i5 or i7, which is better because it has more cores than those gen cpus, but it's bad because one core clock speed is equivalent to those gen cpus, so it doesn't really change much in terms of cpu. I only say that because I have a intel i5 11400h processor, and the processor itself in terms of performance runs around 120 to 232fps in the latest version of Minecraft at default settings, so it's good to consider this cpu because it's also cheaper in price compared to intel cpus
I thought it was more about the GPU side
The GPU helps with the graphical rendering; a good GPU will only help the visuals render quicker and smoother, resulting in better performance. The processor is a whole different story.
If the snapdragon didn't prioritize the CPU and prioritized the IGPU and made the CPU secondary for its performance, it would've been really good. But the GPU would use a whole lot of battery, the stronger it is, and it is a long-lasting laptop because that's its purpose. So instead of having a really good GPU, it has a really good CPU, so the GPU doesn't drain the battery, but the CPU can perform freely without drastic changes to the battery. (As you noticed, it usually has 8+ cores and 8+ threads that run pretty quick, similarly to an i7-i9, but the gpu itself isn't as strong as the i7-i9 so that is what makes its difference)
Overall do you think it's workable if this is a secondary, portable machine? I have a main desktop I do most of my work on but would love to have a nice lightweight machine that I can take with me on the go to do work in blender, ZBrush, and Unreal. From your experience, is it at least workable? Or it just too slow at the moment?
with beta drivers and preview windows its now stable, I use it as my main computer for development. Its definitely usable.

What your desktop screen resolution here? And did you leave the render scaling default or change it to native 100%? Also looks like your lights aren’t shadow-casting?
Desktop resolution is native (3k) but the render scale is set to 720p. I tested it with another scene and the graphics were glitchy. Definietly need some better drives.

These already exist, and are rather common in trade schools
@@oliverwalters9533 I've seen one for the Vive and a stand alone one. Haven't seen one for the Oculus yet, however. Would be a lot cheaper for Oculus. Vive is super expensive. I'm glad stuff like this is being implemented though.
